A ghoul—a smoky, semi-corporeal horror with glowing red eyes and clawed hands—materialized from the shadows and slammed into him. He grunted in pain as his back connected hard with the carriage, the breath knocked from his lungs. The cube clattered to the ground but continued its ominous pulse. The ghoul, joined by a second, shambled toward him. The mayor, witnessing this, screamed, and the few townsfolk nearby scattered.

Sebastian did the same and attacked the ghoul, stabbing him in the process. The ghoul roared in pain; Cassandra rushed to it and stabbed its leg. Sebastian rode its back, strangling him. He waved his hand, and a huge rock went to the ghoul's face. Cassandra transformed back into her wolf and bite its stomach. She felt disgusted tasting the green liquid coming off from the ghoul. Sebastian jumped down, and the ghoul fell on the ground, dead. To make sure, Sebastian stabbed his chest. "Hecatos!" Ikrur roared. The battlefield fell in silence. The man with a black coat appeared, and they didn't expect to see him.

“It’s a Ryokan hex.” Kaze said indifferently, “Someone is out to get you. You were planted with a Ghoul Parasite. “The Ghoul Parasite feeds on your blood. It takes two to four weeks for the parasite to fully mature. Once it’s fully grown, you will die. “You would probably have three more days to live if I hadn’t knocked the Ghoul Parasite out of you. “You’re fine now.” Those infected with the Ghoul Parasite would have black undertones under their wrinkles.
