I decided to tuck that little tidbit away. “You think I’m going to let a witch’s barrier keep me from our mate?” Tony asked. “I don’t think you have a choice in the matter.” He growled, frustration growing on his face. he tried to step around me, but I continued to keep him from approaching Stacy’s car. Another pair of Hecate Enforcers came to block his path as well. He looked like a caged and furious animal. “Is that her dad?” Someone asked from far away. Tony bristled and turned stiffly toward the pair of human teenagers heading toward their car.

"But you did show them." "Them? Aren't you apart of them?" "I apologize." He approached me with his hand held out. I stiffened but didn't step back. "My name is Tony. Tony Yates, Vampire, Council member, and ex-hood rat." I put my hand in his and he bowed over it. "At your service," he said. I swallowed dryly but at least some of my nervousness had left. "I'd introduce myself, but you already know my name." I marveled that his hand was nothing like touching William's had been. Tony's hand was warm.

Tony sighed and said, “I can imagine how distraught you must feel by this situation. However, I am not being unrealistic when I say this isn’t the end of the world.” Kate rolled her eyes and said, “Yeah, maybe not for you, but it is for me.” “I could speak to your parents about this if you want,” Tony offered. “It might soften the blow a little.” Kate glared at him and said, “Why would you do that? I don’t even know you.” “In that case, allow me to properly introduce myself to you,” Tony said with a warm smile. “I’m Anthony DaCosta, Chairman of DaCosta Foods and the CEO of AD Finance, a hedge fund company headquartered in Chicago.”

I can see the wheels turning in her head, trying to piece together this unexpected news. “Not at all.” I quickly clarify that we’re just sending texts like friends, nothing more. The tension in her shoulders eases, and she leans back into her seat, visibly relieved. As I explain, I sense her surprise. Stella confesses that she doesn’t really know Tony that well. She describes him as some new model with a substantial following on social media— someone who has walked a few shows for her but with whom she hasn’t formed a personal connection. “He’s a successful supermodel, well, I didn’t know he paints as well!”

Tony then turned and walk towards the medical wing leaving the men in the room momentarily stunned. Hank turned to Andrew and Lucas. "Take him to the torture chambers!" Hank ordered and Li Wei was dragged out. He remembered the things that the latter said to him the other day. “Just pure admiration.” A sardonic smile revealed on Tony's face. He stressed his tone on the word ‘pure’ deliberately to remind Larry of his own ulterior motive. Larry’s face darkened visibly. “Sister-in-law is awesome, but will something bad happen?” Steward’s innocent gaze revealed excitement mixed with a hint of concern. Stanley, on the other hand, was entirely stunned. His eyes widened as he glared at the display, unable to react. ‘Is, is this Cherry? How could it be? This is not possible!’

Tony had said he didn’t want to be forced to return here as he was busy in the sterile corporate offices high above the city where he basically owned all ten new branches of Westside. What brought him here? Was he aware that I missed just two days? A knot twisted in my guy. Tony’s visit usually infrequent always filled me with joy because he was…family. But now, as he scanned the room, his gaze heavy and dismissive, panic pricked at the edges of my previous excitement. My stomach caved when he settled those angry brown eyes on me.
