If I was being correct enough I wanted to make sure that I did not become something else that was going to trigger me into becoming a fool or doing anything I was going to make me crazy. I knew I was thinking, but what exactly I was pondering on is what I couldn't pinpoint, or even remember, though I was still thinking about it. It was a normal thing for me. It helped me think and at the same time, don't think. And spared my mind the agony of overthinking. With so much to do and barely enough time and energy to do it, not thinking and thinking was my best way to solve it.

"You're right, Mia. I understand now." Dolly smiled at her, a rare warmth softening her expression. Mia blinked in surprise. She had only been sharing her own thoughts. In her eyes, Dolly had simply trapped herself in a cycle of overthinking. If she stopped dwelling on every possibility, most problems could be dealt with easily enough. Instead, she kept turning the same issues over and over in her mind until they became exhausting and confusing. Sometimes the answer was simple. Stop fixating on the problem. Stop walking herself into a dead end.

But no, this stupid brain started overthinking everything, and now my mind is a mess. We started eating, but I still could not get my mind off of those thoughts. I am just tired, I think. It has been a long day, anyway. Tomorrow, these would all go away, and these will not be consuming me and my time. For now, I would just let myself entertain whatever these thoughts are. These are nothing, anyway.

"But what if while we're trying to learn stuff we don't know, something happens? Something that we have yet to know, and it's too late for us already." I let out a nervous chuckle because of his question, "Where did the sudden overthinking come from?" I joked to at least ease the sudden atmosphere Mirco's question brought to us. "I'm just wondering," he shrugged. "There are things that happen at the time we least expect it, and so we couldn't think properly of how to solve it. What if while we're chilling, taking things slow, something bad happens?"

Because of thought of being a burden on him too. He should just enjoy his life. Without getting interrupted by me. That's the only way things can actually work out. Because my stupid overthinking habit would end up destroying both of us.

He looks at me, then nods. “Yeah.” “Tell me I’m overthinking.” Rowan shakes his head. “Overthinking doesn’t move things.” That’s enough confirmation for me. We don’t go further. Saying too much would force us to act, and we’re not there yet. That night, I stayed awake longer than usual.

“What she said, what she meant, whether you were used or not. That kind of thinking will drive you insane.” I rubbed his temples. “It already kind of is.” Mike grabbed my own glass and took a sip. “Then stop doing it to yourself.” I gave him a skeptical look. “Easier said than done.” “Sure,” Mike said. “But sometimes the best thing you can do is just not give it any more space in your head.” I stared down at the table again, quiet. Mike gestured toward his drink. “Tonight? Don’t think about Clara. Don’t think about what she meant, what she didn’t mean, any of that.” He shrugged. “Just drink it off and let your brain take a night off.”
