My mind snapped at Wyatt's words and spotted his eyes twinkling with ideas. "My mother has a cat at her house. Her name is Cookie with white fur, and she is five years old, so she's not a kitten anymore." My brows furrow with the description. Somehow it sounded familiar. "I'll ask my mother to lend her for a week so you can learn how to take care of her." He continued.

At around 8 p.m., Ron finished up his work at the company and drove back to the mansion of the Cat Family. A chubby, spotted cat sat crouched on the outside wall, and upon seeing Ron, it meowed and ran into the courtyard, prompting the slowly opening ornate iron gate. Ron parked his car in the parking lot and walked up to the thick, heavy wooden door of the mansion. Ten shiny golden cats stood in two neat rows on either side of the entrance, their tails wrapped around them as they sweetly meowed: "Meow, meow!" Ron smiled and looked at them alluringly. He crouched down and rubbed the head of one of the cats, saying: "You've worked hard."

"Listen to me." Something in his tone stilled me. I didn't dare to move in his arms. He seemed to exhale softly, yet the grip around my waist did not loosen. He was still holding onto my tail with his free hand. "I once had a cat." He fell silent for a long time after that. In fact, it was so long I thought he wouldn't continue. Then, he spoke again. His voice was very soft, and he sounded almost nonchalant about it. "It was called Powder. It had pink and white fur, too. Just like you."

They looked broken, half-dead in the rain. Good thing I brought them home. That's what saved them. They stored energy, slept for years, kept evolving in this twisted timeline—and produced an even stronger next generation. They hid the glitches. To everyone else, they were just regular house cats. Until the apocalypse hit. Their powers rebooted. Same game. Different round. I'd barely finished processing that when noise flared outside. "Where are those cats? Hand them over!" Alan stood there with a crowd behind him. Three massive crocodiles sprawled at his feet.

Cat sighed heavily at the interruption and she got up and opened the door. It was Deena. "Thank God, get in here," Cat told her as she grabbed Deena by the wrist and pulled her inside, shutting the door behind her. "What is your deal girl?" Deena asked her as she was being dragged through the already closing door. "Girl, Della has a big problem and I think she needs our help," Cat explained. "Oh, well spill it chica. What do you need us to do?" Deena asked the still crying Della.

“Ice cream? Really? You think that low of me?” “I’m just being careful,” Cat snapped. “I don’t want to end up on some headline saying I killed you.” Jaden shook his head, smiling slightly. “Relax. I’m not that easy to get rid of.” Cat rolled her eyes as she parked. “You better not be.” Cat muttered under her breath, “He’s such a pain in the ass.” “Hmm? What did you say?” Jaden asked, turning slightly toward her. “Nothing,” Cat replied quickly, keeping her eyes on the road.

Figure out how to take down the mountain of a werecat. Grumbles and boos from the crowd are aimed at me because I’m not fighting just dodging. “Pretty princess” the beefy tomcat croons, “I’m going to eat you up and claim you.” He chuckles. “You’re a werecat, not a big bad wolf” I reply in a snarky manner. He doesn’t get it, instead, he just hisses between his teeth. “Submit and this can end now. You are obviously afraid to fight me. You are weak.” I flash pointed teeth at him, my claws coming out.

"Hey, how did you get in here?" The cat stared back with its green eyes. "Come here!" Toshani bent out as far as she could reach and grabbed the cat. She walked towards her bed, cuddling the cat in her arms. "How are doing today? What is your name? You know I used to own a cat; he was called Mr. Bushy. I do not know what happened to him. I hope he survived and lived a long healthy life." She was quiet for a moment, recalling her old life.

What a douche. Decency my fine ass. I turned to Catia, a smile on my face. “So, what do you do?” “Um, I just keep the sheep in line while they graze. Some of them try to run off or get distracted but I can reel them in with this.” she pointed to a stick with a curved end. She reminded me a little bo peep. “Well that sounds boring, but I’m gonna follow you anyway.”

It didn't take less than five seconds and I was healed magically. Nagisa's jaws dropped. " Just what are you?!" I put the bomb away and buried my hands deep in my pockets. " I'M A CAT WITH NINE LIVES!"
