As we got to the center of the main hall, the Hatter turned swiftly and for the first time I saw his face in full view. His skin was pale, his jaws sharp and contoured. His eyes glowed a glassy blue and the color surrounding his eyes was dark, as though he had been under immense stress, which he had. His head was fully raised and he adjusted his hat so it did not cover so much of his face any more. "Anyone?" Hugo, a man with a tophat and a grey mustache that makes him look like the monopoly man, steps forward. He smiles at me and then presents Felicia with a chair. His gloved hands are resting on the backrest, and Felicia seems to gulp before stepping forward. "Don't be afraid; this won't hurt," Hugo says with glimmering eyes that speak of his mischief. He loves to watch people suffer. "But it will be one hell of an experience,"

In the front of the room there was a drink table with a coffee pot & mugs on top, and liquor & glasses below. I took my seat at the furthest end of the table, and they all followed suit. Before I could even open my mouth to speak, one of them began expressing his concerns. Hightower, was his name. He had always been quite pushy, usually the first to back Donahue when he started making demands of me. He was a plump old man, with graying facial hair. He had started to bald some years ago so he started shaving his head. His facial features showed his age though, with wrinkles on his forehead, crows feet around his eyes & wrinkles that caused the skin around his lips to sag.

Long white hair flowed down around their shoulders from beneath the wide brims of their hats. Their skin was coarse from the local weather. They wore light grey robes with golden accents and matching pointed hats that bent slightly at the top. A gold symbol adorned the hat. “You might want to back up.” He said in a musical voice that was soothing and disturbing all at once. “I can’t just give up on him like that!” She exclaimed, feeling a deep hole in her chest ripping open. “Don’t give up but make room for the dragon to work his magic and believe.” The little man suggested. She allowed him to pull her away behind the line of little men, where they had brought Prince Vaugn.

I raise my voice to be heard over the music, but I can barely hear myself. “I think it will be fairly obvious.” Nathan’s jaw is tight as he nods toward the bar. There’s a man holding court there in a group of women dressed not so differently from me, so I can’t exactly judge them. But the guy is wearing a tropical print shirt, totally unbuttoned, and baggy khaki shorts. Atop his head is a party store wizard hat. “That can’t be,” I say, shaking my head slowly. “That is not the super powerful magician.”

"Welcome, scum," said a man in shorts and a blue polo shirt. The man wore a black hat with the letters HTH on it. A whistle hung around his neck. There was a scar that started from the back of his head and down his spine. He had a clipboard in one hand and a pencil in the other.

She whispers in horror and winks before I feel my hands being grabbed to my side. I turn and see Bahm's face first, under a tall and circular black hat that had a wide gold bang running across the front and back with two red tassels hanging from each side. I was truly mesmerized by my mate's calm and charming face in his long black attire he wore. He looked like a King indeed.

She argues, and it sounds like she’s trying to convince herself to not give in. Akio grins. “No you won’t.” He takes a step closer to her, and their height difference is simply, adorably, perfect. “My hat will protect you.” He says, taking it off and placing it on her head. His hair falls down his shoulders and I catch Bibah biting down a smile as she tips the hat back so it balances well. Akio shrugs off his top coat and tosses it to William. Bibah shakes her head in stubborn, adamant disagreement.

Amberleigh had always imagined The Mad Hatter was an older man with crazy hair, crazy suits, a Joker smile, and a top hat. Well, she only had two of those features right about the man sitting in the plush chair grinning at her in an unsettling manner. He was wearing a purple velvet suit and looked like one crazy mother fucker for sure.

“I am who exists in both worlds, where the current one should not. I hold a sin and choose to snap into this little mad hunt I enjoy the most. I to whom they call a mad man yet does not clearly define me and even enough to be called as one. I laugh, I skip as I do sometimes look like a clown with its very façade behind the horn I have. Who am I?” With the character and image that slowly built and appeared before her, she took her time as she somehow stares blankly at the character that started with its infamous hat, down unto its face and figure that seems to not jive to the size and proportion of its enormous head, the voice asks her once more.
