Without a hint of hesitation, he pushed the door open. Selene was wearing a thin robe, accompanied by Monica and Daisy. She was surprised to see Damian enter. She started at the sight of him. "I am not yet finished," she said, her voice like ice. "Then continue. I will wait," Damian countered. "This is not a scheduled night. What business do you have here?" "I am free to enter whenever I wish. You are my wife." Monica and Daisy took one look at the Duke's face and scurried out, leaving the two of them alone in the heavy silence.

“Duncan, where are you going now? It’s late.” “To Lisa’s. She needs me,” Duncan replied curtly. “And your wife doesn’t need you?” Luna Grace asked, her voice tinged with desperation. Duncan ignored her question and turned to leave. Hailey, overhearing the exchange, quickly walked in the opposite direction to avoid being seen. Her heart ached from Duncan’s words, but she steeled herself, determined not to let it show. She resolved to focus on her new plan and make a positive impact in the community, despite the challenges she faced in her marriage.

"Scum like this don't deserve mercy! Go all out on him!" The screen was filled with curses and cheers. Watching the numbers surge, Duncan was practically grinning ear to ear. He moved the camera closer, deliberately giving a close-up of my swollen, bruised face. Gathering the last bit of strength I had, I forced out the words, "Duncan, you're insane… I can't believe you're willing to go this far to ruin me. Did you not even consider the consequences if the truth comes out?" Instead of getting angry, Duncan laughed. Picking up a frozen tree branch from the ground, he swung it hard against my body. "Even when you're about to be done for, you still won't come clean?"

Eyes wide and what was it, tongue-tied. "Dominic?" Isabella said first, finding her voice. "Did I interrupt something?" I asked, my eyes not leaving Jason's now crimson face. Isabella unclasped herself from Jason's arms and walked over to me. "We didn't hear you come in." She stroked my hand, and anger rose inside of me like lava. I snatched my hand away and walked out of the room. "Then I'll leave you to whatever you were doing." _Isabella_ Dominic walked out of the living area where Jason and I had been dancing. Well, it had not been dancing exactly, but Jason had been reminding us of some moves we used to do back in the day.

I could feel my heart beating so hard at this point. “When did this happen?” I asked, dreading the answer. “Last night,” Isabella replied. “It is a trending video right now and people are bashing Julian. He has lived a life without scandals until he got entangled with you. Now, he is in a bigger mess.” I took a deep breath, “Duncan is bleeding profusely in the video. How is he doing right now?” “He is alive,” Isabella replied. “I guess that is the only thing to be thankful about.”

I initially wanted to use Ryan to make him jealous but it seemed like Ryan liked Jessica, a lot. So that made him off-limits because if there was even the slightest chance that they could work out, I wanted to. But Jaime was just a fun person to talk to; I didn’t even know they knew themselves, let alone trying to make Duncan jealous. And from what he told me today, he doesn’t even stay in the state but I planned to use him to make Duncan mad as hell tonight. I laughed louder than necessary whenever he told a joke just because I knew Duncan was watching.

“And she wasn’t discreet. She made it clear she still thinks she owns you. That I’m just a passing phase.” Duncan’s demeanor shifted. I saw a flicker of anger ignite in his eyes. “There’s nothing…between me and Gianna,” he asserted, voice firm. “Whatever this is all about, I…don’t understand it either. I haven’t spoken to her in years. …..She doesn’t get….. to dictate our lives.” I glanced at my coffee, now cooling in my hand. “I don’t want to deal with this, Duncan. I’ve got an early morning waiting for me and a mountain of files to tackle. I don’t have the emotional bandwidth for this high school drama.”

“-I decided to go down to do some investigations and guess what? They are friends. You can't believe how scared I am. When are you coming back? You should help me dress up. I can't embarrass myself in front of the rich…” “Calm down. Calm down…” I cut her mid-speech as I picked up the phone and exited the bedroom, to find Duncan sprawled on the bed with nothing but his bathroom towel which was now loose. He had one leg hidden beneath the other, one hand cradling his head while he held his phone with the other one. “I CAAAAAAN’T….” Anna screamed causing Duncan’s brow to dip. Her dark brown eyes were filled with so many questions. “So… The main plan is for you to be his wife instead. He would make sure that if the Triad fell… You are going down with them.” Duncan added seriously – causing her hands and feet got cold. She gritted her teeth – just to stop fear from rushing through her veins, even if it was impossible to happen. “This is their last card. That is the reason why I want to help you get out of here. I don’t want you to do this just because of the truth – that they are trying to feed you… The truth that is not real…” Duncan stated seriously.

Duncan sat down at a table in the restaurant, gesturing for Weston to join him. Weston sat down, looking at Duncan with a mixture of curiosity and concern. "So, how is he?" Weston asked, nodding towards the TV screens in the restaurant, which were all showing news footage of Reyes and his family. Duncan's expression turned sour, his eyes narrowing as he watched the footage. "I'm very sure you saw the news all over the internet," he said, his voice dripping with bitterness. "He has acknowledged Christine as his girlfriend, and now they have a daughter he never even knew about."
