Logan Reynolds I’m halfway through a proposal draft when I hear the familiar knock—three sharp raps. Only one person knocks like that. “Come in,” I call, already knowing. Bonnie pushes the door open like she owns the place. She’s in ripped jeans, her denim jacket slung over one shoulder, sunglasses perched on her head even though she’s inside. “Well, well,” she smirks, stepping in and letting the door fall shut behind her. “Big man behind the desk. You know, you used to build Lego cities on the floor.”

Cadence said, “Mama’s with Papa now, remember?” Oddly enough, Bonnie didn’t look as sad at that answer as I thought she might. She nodded her head and went on playing with the toys. I thought it was strange, but I know that Vampires’ emotions are different than humans’. Perhaps it should’ve raised a red flag, but I was too tired to think about it.

I headed towards the Pearces house beside mine, determined to put a stop to my relationship with Crystal. “Just the person I wanted to see,” Bonnie said as soon as I rang the bell and she opened the door. She was glowing, so happy and ecstatic it seemed like she was high. I bet she knew the reason why my mom left in the first place which was why she kept trying to console me and make me see reason with her. Moms did tell each other everything after all. “You have no idea how glad I am it is you, Blake. Oh! I could just about cry from the sheer happiness of it all.”

Bonnie felt her heart flutter when her mother's sweet smooth voice spoke through the phone. "Mom." Bonnie said softly. "Bonnie? Is that you?" Aretha asked hopefully. "It's me." Bonnie said, her tears building up. "Where are you? Are you okay? Did somebody hurt you?" Aretha asked. "Listen mom I can't explain all that right now. I need you to come and get me before Lorenzo finds me. I'm at-" Bonnie paused, "I'm sorry, where is this place?" She asked the two guys. "Bakers Town." They answered, laughing as one of them took a swig from the beer he was drinking.

Maggie fired back. "Enough, Maggie!" Bonnie tried to interject. But as she stood up and took a few steps, Maggie forcefully pushed her aside. "Maggie, why are you treating me like this? I'm your mother!" Bonnie exclaimed. "Stop insisting you're my mom!" Maggie continued to reproach Bonnie with sarcasm. "So what if you are my mother? "Did you grant me a life of luxury, a closet filled with riches, or an elite education? I won't treat you any better simply because you're my mother!"

A soft knock on my door made me jump. “Bev? You okay up there?” Mom’s voice, warm and concerned. “Yeah!” I called back, forcing brightness into my tone. “Just… tired. Long day.” “Okay, honey. Dinner in thirty if you’re hungry. Marcus is ordering pizza.” “Sounds good,” I managed.

This day was all too surreal. "Did you save Gracie?" I asked, my eyes still on the blonde woman "How did you….," I found myself unable to form the rest of the sentence, through the whirlwind of emotions that raced inside my mind. Bonnie smiled and nodded gracefully "I did save Gracie," she paused "I was hired as a decoy by Rory Roth to fool Gracie into thinking I was her Mother. To lull her into a false sense of security so she would stay with us," I could see the look in Bonnie's eyes she resented every going along with the plan "But I saw how Rory was treating Gracie, giving her medication to change her,"

"OK, Mom. But what about Truman?" "Your dad is pretty mad, so Truman will just have to stay out of his sight for now. But don't worry, I won't let her get her way again. Once your dad doesn't need her anymore, she'll pay the price of messing with me!" A flash of darkness flickered in Bonnie's eyes.

Celeste’s POV “You’re a lame, toxic mom! Don’t try to ruin our happy family!” Bonnie screeched. Her face scrunched into a hostile scowl that stabbed daggers at my heart. A lame, toxic housewife? I somehow doubted those concepts were in my preschooler’s curriculum. “That’s right, sweetie. Tell the bad woman to stop trying to tear our family apart.” Vanessa said. She stroked Bonnie’s hair like a heartless puppeteer.

She released a stronger concussion that disintegrated the rampaging Kaiju in its tracks before Taylor could even raise Barracuda. “Whoa,” Taylor said to Bonnie in surprise. “I know, I know,” Bonnie said. She bent over to catch her breath. “Now I’m the one who has a lot of explaining to do.” Sampson stretched himself back into the room and pinned Bonnie down to the floor. “You should have stayed out of this, kid,” Sampson said as his free arm sparked ready to electrocute Bonnie. “Just like your mom, you don’t know when to call it quits. It’s a shame we have to kill her daughter too.”
