Chapter 82 — Aria's POV The magical barrier shattered like glass, raining sparkles of power that faded before hitting the ground. My stomach dropped as the first hunters burst through the gap. Holy crap. These weren't the hunters we'd trained for. Their bodies were wrong — limbs too long, muscles bulging in impossible ways. Some had multiple partial shifts, fur, and scales mixed together. Others moved like smoke, barely solid. “All units, maintain formation!” Kane's voice cut through the radio static. “Do not engage individually!”

POV: Victoria The first hunter was still tearing through the crowd when two more transformations began. I watched in frozen horror as a female wolf from Maya's group collapsed, her spine arching impossibly. Her screams cut through the chaos, raw and animal. Bones cracked and reformed. Skin split and healed and split again. Within seconds, another eight-foot monster rose where a person had been. Then a third. A young male from Seraphina's coalition. He'd been standing right next to me, helping organize the civilian evacuation. Now he was something else entirely. Something that looked at me with white, glowing eyes and saw only prey.

“WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING? THAT WAS FUCKING A BEAR! IT COULD HAVE KILLED YOU! ARE YOU INSANE?!” “I..
