I frowned. “What does that have to do with—”
“It started with the death of our grandfather, Dragon,” she continued, cutting me off. “When he died, the old systems collapsed with him. The ancient magic that governed true mate bonds. No one now knows how to distinguish real bonds due to their faintness.”
