I looked around at everyone lounging and ran through them in my mind. Travis was an instructor at the Alpha School. They flew him in to teach survival for a few weeks every year. That’s how we got to know him. He was a shifter, but I have never seen his wolf. He never talked about him, either, and the students had speculated that he had lost his wolf in a horrible accident. He was still one hell of a fighter, and someone we were glad to have on the team.

I took a deep breath and chose a plan of action. My voice was steady as I lied, “I don’t know where Robin is. He’s away on personal business, and communication has been limited.” Tristan’s eyes squinted again. “Restricted, really?” I said in an unshakable voice, “It’s the truth. He wouldn’t abandon the pack in a time of crisis deliberately.” The sound of the faucet’s steady drip was the only sound breaking the strained silence. Tristan kept examining me closely, his eyes piercing as if looking for any hint, any hint of dishonesty. At last, he let out a frustrated groan and raised his hands.

My plan had failed before it even started. “What’s wrong, my love? You look distracted,” Liam said softly, gently tucking my hair behind my ear. I forced a smile and shook my head. "You can all take your seats," Alpha Logan announced, and everyone slowly lowered themselves back to their seats. “Thank you for coming, Alpha Azriel and his brothers, and also…” Alpha Logan paused, swallowing hard. “Thank you, Alpha Liam and his beautiful Luna, for gracing my pack.” I forced a polite smile. Alpha Logan began addressing the crowd, but I wasn’t listening. My eyes kept flicking toward the triplets, and each time my heart ached at how focused they were on their new “mate.”

Liam asked, and the triplets shook their heads. “Good, so please promise me that you won't harm anyone again,” Liam said, looking at each one of them. The triplets felt guilty for what they did, so they nodded and promised never to harm anyone again. “I will be so proud of the three of you if you keep your promise,” Liam said, planting kisses on their foreheads. “Daddy, what should we do if she tries hurting us again?” Aziel asked, curiously. “Call for help or tell your mom and me about her actions," Liam replied, smiling at his son.

Ziah looked at her like she had betrayed him most horribly, and Zeke looked like he was about to cry. George interjected, "As a medical professional, I believe this is a genetic anomaly. The triplets shared a placenta which explains why they were paired with one person. However, since we recognize this as a mistake, two of them will need to break the bond, leaving one to remain with her. And given Kai's alpha status, I think he is best suited to be with Vespa.” He said it with such smugness that I knew it was going to offend Ziah.
