Mona whispered in a low hum. Rose also wondered the same. If Hannah Maury had indeed been insane and driven, why did she agreed with the Duke’s request? Unless he had offered to her something so tempting that she couldn’t help but agree? Then again, seeing how her grandmother died so quickly perhaps not long after she had cursed Lady Elizabeth, it posed a question to her on who had killed her. Was it possible that the Duke did it…? Grandmother Jane came not long after, settling a brown dusty book that appeared thicker as more papers are stuffed in between the pages. A red thread had tied the book in haste and seeing how it was neatly tied, Rose could tell that no one had opened the book.

The tattoo was so familiar to me that I could touch it without even opening my eyes. Sebastian lifts his head slowly, his eyes dark and full of desire as he looks at me. No words came out, just a meaningful silence. The sound of our heavy, rhythmic breathing filled the air between us. He moved closer again, his lips seeking mine. The kiss was no longer soft—it was deep, demanding, and I returned it wholeheartedly, letting myself drown in the flavours he offered. It was as if the world outside had disappeared. There was only us here, caught in an unstoppable whirlpool of emotion and desire.

He held it up for a moment, examining it in the light before casually flicking it onto the concrete floor, where it landed with a tiny, insignificant tink. "One," Zandrei counted softly, his eyes glinting with a mad, ecstatic light. "Now, let's try again. Who sent you?" He asked, his voice brimming with a childlike excitement, like a madman who had just discovered a wonderfully fun new game and was eager for another turn. The man in the chair could only manage a strangled, guttural sound, a wet sobbing noise that vibrated through his shattered mouth. His head thrashed from side to side, his eyes wide with a horror so pure it was almost beautiful to Zandrei.

The fact I was about to live out my long yearned fantasy… or the fact that it was with strangers that didn’t bother with names. I was naked. A sharp breath sliced the air…from who? Ghost growls. I grit my teeth, shoving him back. I had done this to myself anyway, I had followed them to Adrian’s house to assure myself he won’t touch her, I had stood on her balcony like a fool. A damn obsessed fool who could not stay away. Maybe she is right to think I am a psychopath. Enough is enough. It ends now. The door creaks open, and Madam Lisa steps inside with a big stack of thick books that look like they belong in a museum. The covers are dark, cracked with age.

Suddenly, I noticed something, a door slightly opened. My steps faltered. Was that supposed to be open? “Hello?” I called softly. No answer. Yet, the warm glow and silence stirred my curiosity, and I nudged forward. I pushed the door open slowly. A library. The only room in the mansion that felt remotely alive. Books lined the shelves, though they looked untouched and more decorative. The faux flames in the electric fireplace flickered with artificial warmth. I ran my fingers along the spines of the books. No dust. Everything is too perfect. What kind of man lives like this?

Olive stared at her friend "Look, you know you can tell me anything, right?" Clary hesitated a moment, then nodded. "Sure, Olive," she said. "I know I can." **** "I think," Olive said, curled up on the couch and waving a potato chip at the other girl "That you've read that book more times than I've had to dye my hair this month" Maddie squinted at her over the top of her old-edition of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, pushing her glasses up her nose "Well I'm not done reading it yet"

She tilted the highball glass in her hand slightly. The bright red liquid splashed toward the blue diamond. I watched as those crimson drops accumulated on its surface, and suddenly stood up, delivering a slap to her face. There was plenty of red wine on the table. I lowered my eyelids, gazing down at her, pouring glass after glass of red wine. I smiled and said, "Miss Fox, this isn't a story of a prince falling for Cinderella. "Because the prince in your heart is nothing more than the Walsh family's illegitimate son.
