Chapter 77 – Engagement Glow (Eli POV) I woke up with the ring on my finger and Dante’s face smushed into the crook of my neck like he was trying to hide from daylight itself. The fairy lights were still on low battery now, flickering in slow, sleepy pulses like they’d stayed up all night celebrating with us. Golden light danced across the ceiling, catching on the platinum band every time I moved my hand. I lifted it slowly, watched the tiny etched stars inside the band glint when I tilted my wrist just right.

“This is nothing. Once he’s in prison, I’ll be the one running the companies outside. For all we know, he’s in there secretly gloating, thinking he’s trapped me with this child…” Their voices faded into silence as I drifted into a restless sleep. Faris I woke up to sun shining on my face. The morning brightness waking me up. I got up and sat on the bed, eyes still closed because of over drinking last night.
