At last, he stopped and let go of my hands. “You can open your eyes now. I am sorry Princessa.” He whispered. “For what?” “That fucktard Cornelius caused to much damage with that spell he put on you... I couldn’t reverse it.” He looked embarrassed.

He sighed and stroked my hair. “That is the question that is on everybody’s mind at the moment. It doesn’t seem like they have moved in and we are monitoring the territories. They might decide to wait until the dust settles. The one thing that is crystal clear … These people hate humans that are turned and they would go to great lengths to make sure nobody else is turned.” I nodded and put my head down on his chest. His heartbeat calmed me and soon I drifted off to sleep.

Reflexively, Sarah's hand reached up to touch one of the lengthy scars on her face. Nate was aware that her coven had never taken well to the unwritten agreement between the magical beings of Elmwood. They were apprehensive near members of this other supernatural species because of previous experiences. Nate muttered, "I said, ignore them," and started along the broad sidewalk. She froze, though, just as she was about to turn away. One of the wolves had come into view for her. He was tall, handsome, and trim. He had the same tanned skin, dark hair, and bright green eyes as someone Nate had known in the past. His and hers met in the gaze. She was unable to turn away.

The crowd hushed in anticipation, their whispers creating a discordant hum. Ashley, caught off guard, looked at Thorian, a mix of confusion and concern in her eyes. Thorian, too, stared at Thalia, his expression a blend of surprise and discomfort. Thalia, emboldened by her outburst, continued, “This union goes against our traditions! A prince can’t marry a non-werewolf!” Murmurs spread like wildfire through the audience, a wave of uncertainty washing over the once jubilant gathering.

Hundreds of different coloured eyes looked back at us, at me, with different emotions. Shock, pity, disgust, anger. There was a lot but not one of them were what I wanted to see. I had done it, the one thing that I was not supposed to expose, I did. I did it during the worst time too, where every single creature was here, surrounding me. They knew it now. I was human and this human was in a relationship with two of their hybrids and falling for their vampire.

I will see myself out, he said as he walked towards the door. As he walked out the door, Sandra sat up with teary eyes. She felt she had failed herself. She had promised to start away from men until she finishes her nursing degree. How could she let herself be so vulnerable? She walked to the shower and soaked herself in the bath for a while as though to wash his hands off her body. She thoroughly enjoyed him. This was what she always dreamed of. No, she thought to herself I will never see him again. I don't want anything to do with him. I'm sure he is just here to play around with me. I won't give in to him anymore. She continued in her thoughts as she drifted slowly to sleep.

All of it told Sarah that the piece of human leg she was seeing wasn't fake. Sarah gasped for air, the flashlight slid off from her fingers. She falls back, gasping and wheezing as she stumbles backward, her widening eyes staring directly to the leg that became more visible because of the flashlight harboring it. Only then did she manage to let out a scream.

Wynn asked the scared-looking human. The human nods his head, ‘yes.’ Because a lot of people died the night Michael attacked the Higher Council, they had to get new humans and most of them are still getting used to the ways of the Supernatural. “Guess they have not compelled you yet?” Wynn asked the human that was trying to get loose from him. “Stop being afraid, there is nothing to be afraid of,” Wynn compelled him and that made the human relax. “There. Now go sleep this off,” Wynn said, before leaving the castle, thinking Deacon can find his own way back to Alaska.
