“Lamp my ass.”
“That's the truth.” Nikolai reached for my wrist, pulling me outside until we were at the entrance of his room. He flung me inside and pointed at the electrical socket, then at the lamp that had been packaged on the table, burnt and black.
“I knew you would need evidence.”
“You're lying,” I shook my head as I stared at the lamp, “you're lying to me.”
“One thing about perpetual liars is they think everyone is like them. The evidence is right there and you still don't believe it,” Nikolai shook his head, “that only points at your ability to fake evidence.”
