By eight o’clock in the evening, I found myself sitting in the library, staring at the same book that I had been reading for the last four hours, unable to concentrate. The campus library stayed open till eight-thirty during the weekdays for students and though I had a paper due in one of my classes, the thought of reading ‘Ethics for the Modern World’ wasn’t appetizing.

~ Helena ~ I prepared to go to work the following day. I worked as a librarian at the Moon Public Library (MPL). My work time varied from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on other days. I had a day off only on Sunday.

Some rules have divided sections. On the first page were rules to the sitting room and diner table. Whoever gets to the sitting room first decides what channel to watch. Business news must be watched in the morning and night. No phone is allowed at the diner till the diner is over. No eating after the forty minutes the diner has started. “Funny eating is even timed,”I chuckled. I was reading the rules to be familiar with the house and to avoid getting into troubles with them. Same time, reading it keeps me company so I don’t miss my phone too much. Library is a must visit on Wednesday afternoons for two hours.

The guards at the entrance will be away for the next forty minutes, approximately we have only forty minutes to find this book and slip back out the way we came" I looked at her. Zeke went to the library before sunrise the following day. Not that it mattered. He hadn’t slept for... Shit, he couldn’t even remember now. The librarian seemed surprised to see him, but she didn’t comment when he walked over to a shelf to start browsing. The library was open twenty-four hours a day to allow students to keep up with their studies on top of their training schedules. It was the biggest structure on campus, with a vast atrium structure and several floors around it. It was usually full of students after training, but at this time, he had known it would be empty. Most people were still asleep or resting before the start of another gruelling schedule. Lucky bastards.

There are games and all sorts of things but you can only access it for thirty minutes after one hour of reading so if you really want to play there you must have read for an hour. The librarian has a timer and takes note of each student, the time they get in and the time they leave. There is also a place where you can relax and get snacks. Overall, this place is just awesome. They have all the books you’d need in the world. Not just educational books but also literature, novels and all, but they do not have books with mature content. That’s one of their policies.” She expl
