He froze, panting. "So, The Destroyer has awoken!" Magnus' voice boomed over the crashing of the waves, mocking him. Brand heard the mumbling and shifting of a crowd. He said a silent prayer to the gods that Astrid and Ulfhild had somehow escaped. "Get him up," the Chieftain commanded, and the now familiar giant hand grasped his upper arm and yanked him to his feet. He glared at Sigurd as he spat sand from his mouth. The man smirked at him, and Brand's wolf snarled. This time, he didn't try to mask the sound and was rewarded with a look of uncertainty crossing the giant's face.

With that, he crushed the man's head with his fist and it exploded, leaving behind splatters of blood as he tossed the body aside.

Baselroth peered down and shook her head. "Lower demons?" Momodaeus repeated, scoffing as he did a free fall to the rocky molten lava below. "Someday, you'll lose your ability to fly!" Baselroth said and Momodaeus stuck out his middle finger at her. She watched him float down as if he had an invincible parachute and he landed perfectly on one of the rocks.

That certainty showed in Magnus' calm smile. "Hello. You must be Cyrus." Cyrus felt no warmth toward him. The man appeared gentle and refined, but after hearing Ilyana's account of the West Ridge Base, Cyrus knew exactly how ruthless he was. "You're the leader of the West Ridge Order?" Cyrus replied evenly, a polite but cold smile on his face. "How should I address you?" "My name is Magnus Blackwell." "Mr. Blackwell," Cyrus said lightly. "What brings you to me today?"

Dimitri could tell that they had been having some fun by the look on Majesta’s face, a lot of fun. Majesta would have been as red as a lobster if she had fed.
