"He's just acting out. His baby sister got sick a few days ago, so we couldn't take him to the amusement park like we promised. Now he's pulling a prank at home. He probably gave the neighbor a scare. I'm really sorry for the trouble."
Frowning, a young officer fixed a sharp gaze on Dad. "Mind if we step inside and take a look?"
As if to prove he had nothing to hide, Dad generously stepped aside to let them in.
Then, right in front of all the officers, he turned toward my corpse and started yelling impatiently again, "Alright, Ewan Fraser! That's enough! There's a limit to throwing tantrums! Get down here right now! The police are here!"
