Kian’s Pov Time stopped for a minute! I noticed mother held her breath, she refused to say a word at first as if she was trying to compose herself. Gradually she turned around, “Don’t you ever mention that witch’s name in this house! This should be the last time you speak of that slutty omega. Have I made myself clear?” she suddenly queried me. This further solidified my assumptions, something was wrong! Mother is obviously hiding something from me. Standing up to my full length I took careful strides towards her. Her breathing became shallow like she was barely hanging on in there.

But the problem is, you are pregnant, and we don’t know if you will give birth already since your body is reacting. Emily roamed around her eyes. She heaved a sigh. "I can still manage, Dillon." I want to climb, and Leia is there to help me up. " She said, glancing at Leia. Leia stared at her, serious as she howled, silently enough for the three of them to hear. They started to climb the big oak tree. Emily was not hesitant, and Leia was just guiding her up. Upon reaching the last branch of the oak tree, they can foresee the hunters and rouges doing nasty things while preparing.

Rowan said, pointing through the trees. Kael rested his hand on the hilt of his sword. "We stay together." Nobody argued. We followed the sound. The forest changed as we walked. The pines gave way to older trees. Their branches spread so wide that the sunlight barely reached the ground. The air smelled of wildflowers. Then... I saw it. An oak tree. Its trunk split into two before reaching the branches. The same tree from my mother's drawing. "The orchard," Elias whispered. No one moved.

Most striking is the tree's response—its leaves shiver and rustle though no wind stirs them, branches bending subtly toward Maris as if straining to hear her better. I pause at the clearing's edge, unsure whether to interrupt what appears to be a private communion. But as I watch, thin tendrils of golden energy flow from the tree into Maris's palms, spiraling up her arms like living vines before disappearing beneath her skin. The sight is both beautiful and unsettling. Before I can retreat, Maris speaks without turning. "The oak remembers when this land was ocean floor." Her voice carries easily across the clearing. "Its roots touch water that hasn't seen sunlight in ten thousand years."

My body stopped growing colder by the day. One morning a month later I went with Leon to break ground in a clearing in the hills behind town. When I looked down at the bond mark over my heart, the one that had withered black, a familiar tingling ran through my chest. At the center of the dead mark, a point of green had broken through the dead skin, and a fine young oak shoot had come out of it. "Leon." I touched the shoot, and the tears came at once. "But we must be quick, or else it'll catch up with us. Come on, I'll show you what I found." "What have you found?" asked Okayo, feeling relieved. "The plant Oboo instructed us to fetch?" "Yes. Certainly. Come and see." He held Okayo's hand like a father to a child and walked him a few paces away into a grove. "See. Here it is," he said pointing at a tree-let on the ground. "This small thing on the ground?" asked Okayo in a demeaning tone. "Yes. This is it," replied Okech. Just then the python reappeared. "Pick it. It's your onus to carry it," instructed Okech.

Either ways, they seemed to be having fun in what they were doing till. "Guys! " Lacey interrupted before they broke something . They turned to her a little bit upset about her disturbing them. "I'm going out. If something breaks, you two would have to answer to me. " She glared and Austin gulped knowing what she could do. When the door clicked close, they sighed and fell on the couch trying to catch their breath. "That was... Fun. " Austin breathed out. "I agree. " She agreed with him for once. With another loud sigh, they fell into a comfortable silence .

I fought to untie myself until late into the night, so much so that my hands had turned a terrifying shade of purple from poor circulation. As if sensing my despair, the thick branch of the old cypress tree broke. I held onto that final sliver of hope and called Vivian. The moment the call connected, her cold voice came through. "Allen, haven't you learned your lesson yet? You frightened Earl today, so I need to keep him company. Don't bother me unless you're dying." Then, Earl's affectionate voice rang out. "Vivian, it's your turn to shower." Trembling, I hung up and lay on the ground, letting my tears soak the earth beneath me.
