NEW TARGET: Designation [ADMIN]. TRIGGER: Manual Input Code [0-0-0]. Ren’s fingers flew across the mechanical keyboard, the click-clack sound filling the room like gunfire. He was building a backdoor. If the Admin ever tried to lock them in—if the "Game Over" screen ever appeared in real life—Ren would type the code. And every drone, every robot, every soldier in the game would stop hunting the players... and start hunting the Game Master. "If you try to burn me," Ren whispered to the scrolling code, "I'm going to turn your own dogs against you."

The cop shifted into his seat, though dressed in a casual trouser and a button down white shirt for he was an inspector- undercover cop as mentioned in his identity card he'd shown him when he arrived. He moved forward and stared at him judging him to scare him and asked "Did you skip off human trafficking, drug dealing, skin selling by mistake or you are purposely hiding it from me." "Have you lost your mind? What are you saying?" Edwin roared, "Never in least thoughts would I do any of these businesses. "Nice facade Mr. Edwin I should say. Why don't you try Hollywood? You'll give tough competition to Robert Pattison or Tom Cruise" he said sarcastically.

I noticed that they were surprised at what they found out. "There are some undercovers like me, different cases are being handled and our main goal is to catch them and the police will follow," I said as I leaned over. "Are they that coward? Undercovers are the bait for the opponents, so you're the first one to be put in danger," Flynn said. “That’s how we live as undercover. To survive, we have to do everything just to get the money, but in exchange for money are bruises on the body,” I can’t help but remember my experiences.

I couldn't see what it was, but the cop's attitude changed immediately. "Oh," the officer said. "I didn't realize this was part of an ongoing investigation." "Undercover operation," Tony explained quietly. "We're tracking stolen goods through street sales. This young lady is helping us identify the supply chain." The officer nodded and handed me back the watch. "Sorry to bother you, miss. Good luck with your... medical expenses." He walked away without another word. I stared at Tony in shock. "What just happened?" "Victor has friends everywhere," Tony said simply. "You think we could run this operation without protection?"

"I don't have a cent. Call the police if you want." I hugged the cardboard box to my chest and headed for the door. Tasha shot Vinny a look. He suddenly lunged forward and knocked the box out of my arms. Documents, my water bottle, and a small figurine scattered across the floor. And there—my external hard drive. "What's this?" Vinny shouted. "Well, well, Chloe. So you dared to secretly copy company confidential data!" Tasha pointed at the hard drive on the floor. "A commercial spy like you is a disgrace to the entire industry! We even treated you like a sister. Who knew you were this dishonest?"

"Here is your new identity. Welcome back to the underworld, Viper." I picked up the cold titanium card, staring at the elegant, terrifying new alias. Kai thought he was the ultimate ruler of the city's criminal underbelly. He thought his throne was untouchable. But he had no idea that the broken girl he locked away was about to build a rival shadow empire right under his nose. I was going to intercept his shipments, turn his allies against him, and meet him on the battlefield of the underworld—and he wouldn't even know it was me until I was holding the knife to his throat.

Dear Reader Thank you for reading the first chapter of the book called, Hot Under Cover. Hot Undercover was originally written as an Interactive Story Game. I am in the process of adapting it into a novel form. The original version contains a great deal of dialogue to fit the platform for which it was intended. Filled with more deception and seduction." Everybody was a pawn in this game. The entire city was like a board game. If Elvin tried to flee from her, Eve would lockdown the entire nation, and she knew the right people to call.

He asked. " I'd rather not talk about that, " I said. My driver drove in front of me, blocking any chance of other conversation. I waved and entered. The sirens of the cops were wailing as they came nearby. I smirked. I looked outside the window. Xavier was still there. " Aren't you leaving?" " No... I'll wait just in case the cops want to ask any questions.." " Okay. Gotta run." I said. He smiled and I smiled back the driver drove off, the cops passed by our car and I chuckled. No one messes with Natalie with Maddox and gets away with it.

"Peralta and I will brief them in detail, although the incident didn't last that long. But if we caught someone's interest already and they did something this bold, no telling what will happen next."
