Dylan suddenly felt his pocket vibrating.It was an incoming call.He picked it up,and looked at the caller's ID .It was displayed "P " on the screen. He put out his cigarette ,and threw the stub away.Then he picked up the call,put the phone on the car's hood ,and turned loudspeaker on. "Pedro.Tell me!" He cracked his hands.

Alicia quickly snatched up the phone and hesitated, her thumb hovering over the green button. “Are you not going to answer?” Dylan asked, his voice low, almost strained.

I couldn't help but take out my phone and call Patrick. The system voice quickly came from the other side of the phone, "The number you have dialed is not in the service area or it has been turned off..."

I shoved them aside, dialling his number hurriedly. It rang “Come on! Come on! Please, pick up!” The line cleared. “Hello.”

I pick my phone back up and type in the digits. I hesitate, my fingers hovering over the screen. Then I dial. I take a deep breath as I listen to the waiting tone. No response. I dial again. It rings. And that's when she picks. “Hi.” That voice. I swallow. “Hi, De— Dahlia. It's Soren,” “Oh, Mr Lancaster. How may I help you?” She says, tone clipped and professional. It stings me. I push it down and steady my voice as I reply.

I clicked the dial button when I was done typing. 'Calling Dougal Wilde' flashed across my phone's screen. "Hello." His gruff voice greeted me from the other end.

“I don’t know what’s going on inside the mind of the alpha who singlehandedly defeated the northern rogues.” Diana was about to find some alibi to excuse herself when Luna Riza’s cellular phone rang. The latter’s face lit up upon reading the caller’s ID. Diana took this chance to walk away with the list in her hand when she heard the name she both dreaded and longed to hear. “Axel dear? What’s the matter?”

Jack awoke to the sound of the phone ringing. He cleared his throat, and answered “Hello?” There was static on the line and after a long pause, there was a response. He could faintly hear someone through the static, but the voice seemed far away. He repeated a hello, and the voice responded. “Hello? Jack? Can you hear me?” It sounded like Catherine’s voice but she sounded far away still, like maybe she had the phone upside down or was distracted. Maybe it had been a pocket dial? Catherine continued through the breaking and static “Jack. Can’t….talk...long...I’ve been...Jack? Be careful...love you” Before he could respond, the call ended.

I set Mia down, and she immediately starts exploring, her little fingers touching everything within reach. With my heart racing, I rush to the phone. My hands tremble as I dial Nathaniel's number, hoping against hope that he'll answer. The phone rings and rings, but there's no answer. Instead, I'm met with a dull, monotone beep and then a recorded message: "The number you have dialled is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
