They were the very reason he could draw a breath without the metallic tang of silver-poisoning. But above the vibrant sun, something else was moving. A second moon had appeared. It was a massive, silver-white orb that lacked the iridescent glow of the Lunar Council’s authority. It was flat, matte, and terrifyingly silent. For a wolf, the world was defined by its scent—the smell of rain, the musk of the pack, the iron of blood. But this new celestial body was a void in the sensory world. It was a "Dead Moon." It had no scent. It didn't even have a shadow. It was a cataract over the eye of the universe, and as it descended, the vibrant colors of the Silver Peaks began to fade.

The Silver Moon Pack's mansion stood tall and imposing as Alpha Jake and Mara arrived. The grandeur of the building was undeniable, and its walls seemed to hold countless stories and secrets within. As they entered the mansion, Alpha Jake led Mara through the spacious hallways to a comfortable guest room. The room was tastefully decorated, with deep blue and silver accents that reflected the pack's emblem. A large, plush bed dominated the center of the room, adorned with soft, moon-themed cushions and throws. Moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle, ethereal glow inside.

I felt a deep sense of reverence as I walked through the chamber, absorbing the history that was unfolding before me. At the far end of the chamber was another puzzle, but this one was different. It was a large stone platform, and on it was a mural of a wolf gazing up at a full moon. The moon was depicted in stunning detail, with rays of light extending out from it, covering the platform in a soft, silvery glow. There were no symbols to touch, no pillars to align—just the wolf and the moon.

How fucking lame is that? ‘The mobile,’ Ares grumbles from the abyss. His reminder brings my attention to the hanging structure above my son’s bed. Walking closer, I gaze at it. It is beautifully crafted. The tent covering the moon is a beautiful navy blue, constellations’ decorate the top, reminding me of the night sky. Underneath sits the triple moon. Upon closer inspection, a key sits in the full moon at the center. Wolves circle the moon, their howling and running figures hanging by fish wire.
