Money, success, and good fortune will follow them for generations.” So that was it. They all believed this ridiculous legend. They were all waiting for that so-called blessing. But the next paragraph made my blood run cold.

All I know is they were bigger, stronger, looked nothing like us and they outnumbered us hundred to one. An overwhelming amount of refugees flooded the other cities, telling tall tales of heroes rising and taking on four to six creatures at a time. they fought them off while the rest escaped. Delusions, false hope, call it whatever you want we all knew nothing was coming to save us. We sharpened our swords and barricade our homes. The creatures would find us, just like they found all the other cities.

Uri kicks the small stone at his feet, just walking and muttering: "Neil Royce, idiot! Vampires are not real! Not real!" With only a turn to go home, Uri suddenly heard a series of strange noises coming from the small wedge in front of him, which were both like the collision of a cardboard box falling from above and the sound of someone trying to scream but being gaged. He goes on and says that he watched his dog die that night being eaten alive by a wolf-like humanoid that he himself barely made it back home to safety. Then there were these stories of the locals being blood-sucking vampires and all the BS surrounding that subject. Once upon a time, many many years ago, there was an urban legend going around about humans. It was said that weird creatures lured out at night, and ate humans to survive. Creatures like ghosts, spirits, werewolves, and vampires. The humans thought of it as a big threat and they closed themselves into their homes every night. Though those creatures never really came out, so the legend died down after a while. It didn't go unnoticed tho, that on the nights of special occasions, sounds of terror would unleash themselves. The legend was now dead, in the era we lived. Truth be told, no one knew why those creatures were around.
