I run as fast as I can and feel a pang in my heart as I get further and further away from my mate. "Is my mate feeling it too?" I ask my wolf. "Yes," she says sadly. "Don't worry, Jenny. I'll find you another mate, someone who will truly love us. And I have an idea of who it is," I say hopefully. My wolf just nods and we sever the connection. "Oh no," I say anxiously. I sniff vampires. I'm alone. It will be harder for me to eliminate them. Finally, I reach a familiar place in the forest and then I see a vampire. He has black hair, pale skin, and red eyes.

The battle was intense, but we fought bravely. The vampires and werewolves were locked in a fierce war, turning our peaceful grove into a battlefield. I stood in the midst of the chaos, watching as the vampires and werewolves clashed with ferocity. It was a brutal fight, with neither side giving in. In the midst of the chaos, I saw Don charging into the vampire horde. He fought valiantly, but unfortunately, a vampire managed to overpower him and sucked his life away. Tonight, we fight for every wolf who never made it home. These rogues and vampires will pay for what they did to us. FOR THE PACKS! We stand united." A resounding roar shook the night sky. Then, like shadows crawling out of the abyss, the Vampire King’s army appeared. Armored vampires with red eyes glowing like embers, and behind them, grotesque creatures twisted by dark magic—hybrid beasts of fang and claw.

Camlin retrieved the rapier to toss it again. “Vampires,” Kayla whispered as realization struck her. The rapier was of silver, and it burned the soldier. The three v’s on their arm badges. Terror consumed Kayla. “V Empire.” A loud bang. The glass wall behind Kayla and the rest shattered, shards of glass flying through the air. They parried the shards with their hands shielding their eyes, swiveling their heads aside. Some shrieked and bent over. The next second, one of the vampires flew into the room through the broken glass and grabbed Kayla, disappearing immediately.

He ran his hands over his face roughly. Before he could give another order, a sudden screech echoed across the battlefield. A group of vampires approached. One was far larger and more monstrous than the others. Its eyes glowed an unnatural red, and its claws were curved like scythes. Two wolves were flung aside like rag dolls as the creatures charged forward. “Take that thing down!” Ryder growled, and the four of them charged at it at once.
