You are evidence enough. If anyone touches him, I’ll burn this city to the ground and leave your bones for the sun."

He came out and began to survey the area, looking to see if he'd spot a gas station at some point. He didn't see any. He was about to give up hope and reenter his car, when he made out a faint outline of a human figure in the cornfield. Jonathan was about to call out to the person, when he saw a fright-inducing sight.

“I take it you’re the center of this chaos.” I shudder and detach from Andreas to see the man standing before us, his dignified aura quenching ours effortlessly. His strict face lightens a whit and he shifts his gaze to Andreas, his eyes sharpening as he speaks, “A Vampire for a mate, I see.” Then his eyes shift back to me.
