Vanessa James Married Novels & Stories

“You didn’t say it was off-limits. And you never cook for me.” “Because you’re not a hostage.” “Neither is she, right?” James said, gesturing vaguely toward me with his fork. “I mean, you married her. That’s what you said. Or was that just a fever dream I had on the way over?” “It was a better plan,” Misha muttered. “That’s not an answer!” James barked, pointing his fork accusingly. “A better plan? What, did you spin a wheel labeled ‘kidnap, threaten, marry’ and land on ‘wedding bells’ by accident?”

“Me too, Nanang. I’m not hungry—” She didn’t finish, because Nanang held her wrist. “What’s your name, hija?” She forced to give a smile. “Vanessa. Vanessa Alvarez.” “Alvarez? Are you related to that actress with the same last name?” Nanang asked, curious. The question stung. She was talking about her late mother. “She’s my mom.” “Oh! So you’re rich? Then it’s hard to believe you’re just a maid for that gay man.” “My husband is not gay—”

Cassandra's mouth was bloodied from the slap, and that finally lit her fuse. She snapped back without holding anything in. "Is this really my fault? Wasn't it you who came crawling to me in the first place, begging to be my lapdog? When Elsa was still alive, you never cherished her. You played both sides. Now that she's dead, you suddenly regret it? Spare me the fake grief!" The video exploded the moment it was uploaded. The truth everyone had suspected was finally out in the open. James had cheated during his marriage.

Cassandra moved away from her while she was carrying Jacob in her hands. “Oh, James. I can't believe you're marrying her. She was pathetic, weak, and useless Luna for you and guess what? I have really wanted to stop the wedding, but then I have realized that it is enjoyable to surprise the two of you after your wedding ceremony,” she responded to James. I grit my teeth, fists clenched in annoyance towards Ava. I have never expected that she would destroy this moment between me and James. This is our wedding and she's ruining this moment.

“She had an abortion for me. No man’s going to want her after that. I have to make it up to her before she gets married. And seriously, it’s just one day. It’s not like I’m skipping the holiday altogether.” That was what he said, but anyone who had ever had to celebrate after the fact knew that it came with a bitter aftertaste. Quietly, I posted a photo of my lonely dinner and left a message. [Happy holidays, everyone.] It didn’t take long for people to notice James wasn’t with me. [Wait, what? I thought Casey was out of town, but as it turns out, James ditched his girlfriend to be with his ex, and on Christmas at that, too.]

I had a feeling I wasn’t going to like what he had to say. I plopped myself on his big comfy couch and looked at him. He sat next to me and lifted a strand of hair out of my eyes, tucking it behind my ear. I got shivers when he touched me, but I pretended it didn’t affect me at all. James chuckles softly, smelling my arousal. “What is it?” I asked, again. James sighed deeply. “It’s Vanessa. We’re not sure where she is, and I’m concerned.”

Jameson tilted his head, studying her face. "Miss..." "Yes, I am," Candy blurted. Marrying a powerful man might help her situation. "I'm Vanessa, the one who is getting married to Diego Gonzalez." "Oh. I hope the accident isn't too serious. Can you still walk well? Diego doesn't want anyone to know that you're hurt or something," Jameson said. "Ah, I'm perfectly fine. Let's go to the wedding," Candy quickly stood. "What about your guards?" Jameson asked, and Candy thought for a moment.

"That's unusual for you. You've been quite articulate up until now." I forced myself to breathe, to think. "I don't know what you're talking about." "Don't you?" He pulled out his phone, scrolling through something. "Mabel James, formerly Mabel Hoss. Married to Ethan Hoss for three years. Divorced five years ago after a rather... dramatic situation involving a child." My hands clenched into fists. "How did you...." "I told you. I run background checks on everyone who gets close to Vanessa." He looked up from his phone. "Your maiden name is James. You've been using it professionally since the divorce. But you're still very much connected to the Hoss family, aren't you?"

He’d come to her side like he always had. But then his reply appeared: James: I’ll come to you, Miss Vanessa… but only after you’re officially divorced from Daven. Her heart stopped. Vanessa’s eyes widened, reading the words again and again as though repetition might change them. “No! No, you’re joking, right? James, you—you can’t mean that!” Her voice broke as she frantically called him, but again he didn’t answer. “What the hell are you doing, huh?!” she spat, frustration cutting through her panic. It solved nothing. Her hands flew over the screen once more. She needed an explanation.

Standing at the altar, James glanced at his phone and watched a video. “Where are you going, James? You cannot leave me like this." At the wedding, Valeria Hayden was in a panic. “It is our wedding day, James. What do you think you are doing?” As she grabbed James Moreno's wrist to stop him from leaving, her eyes filled with pleading.
