"This doesn't just kill the body. It traps the soul." "Clever girl," Viktor said, still smiling despite being unable to move. "But you're too late. The convergence has begun. The Mother walks the earth again." I turned to the Mother, who watched me with those deep black eyes. She no longer looked just like me—there was something old and terrible showing through her skin, like shadows moving beneath a thin fabric. "You killed my father," I said. "And now my mother is gone too." "They were never your real parents," she responded. "I am your mother. Your creator."

I held my knees tighter, trying to put as much distance as I could between myself and them. "Very clever." Mama said in a voice that wasn't hers. "Indeed. She is full of potential. Like you always bragged." Kara answered. In a voice that didn't sound like hers. "I'm Luna." Mama said. "Hestia." Kara replied. " We could not show you our real forms. It would upset a lot of things. Especially as you are not meant to be here." Luna, Goddess of the moon and Hestia, Goddess of Fire. How was that even possible?

Going between the accounts, according to Vandokar 's own accounts, his mortal mother was an utterly evil woman who sacrificed animals and bonded with monstrous beings, and it was her cruelty that helped shape the man he was in life and death. In the ancient, destroyed temple of a cursed priestess, Tsuki took the soul of Vandokar 's mother, imprisoned it in a jar and stuffing it into a bag, entered his former lair, along with him, collecting the books and all the scrolls, taking it with her in her infinite bag.

"You really don't know, do you? What your mate does every year on that date. What he becomes." "Tell me." "I can't. Because I genuinely don't know." Teo leaned forward. "But I can tell you this—my mother will be here on the blood moon. And she isn't coming for you." The words hung in the air. "Your mother?" "Lucia Cruz. Cell commander for the northwestern territories. She's been hunting wolves for thirty years." Teo's voice softened, almost kind now. "She's the one who raised me. Who trained me. Who taught me everything I know about killing your kind."

She turns away from the fight to say something but is stopped by single spike through her chest. “Mother!” I start running towards her when something drops from above. It was obsidian, and smoothly polished. It was as tall as a tree and had no facial features. It reached for me, and I scrambled back. I was backed up against the wall when it was covered in an orb. Mother was on the floor, with my father standing over her, unscathed. She flung the orb out of the building and she screams.

Vera nodded and said seriously, “Indeed. Back then, I saw her being struck by lightning and turned into charcoal.” Charlie pointed to the sapling and asked, “Then how do you explain this?” Vera said very seriously, “Young Master, although the Mother of Pu’er Tea is just a tree, she has survived the heavenly tribulation, after all. Although she is not a human, if you put yourself in her shoes, if a person can survive the heavenly tribulation, how terrifying must their strength be? Similarly, among the trillions of trees in this world, the Mother of Pu’er Tea is probably one of the best. Her abilities may far exceed our imagination.”

Trapped. Then she drew herself up above him, the last of her authority assembling itself in her frame, and she looked down at him with the full ancient weight of what she was and said the only thing left she had, the thing that had been the center of everything, the thing two centuries of empire had been built around: "KA'VEL SORAN — VEL'THAAN DRAE. KA'VEL SORAN VEL'THAAN DRAE!" I am your mother. I AM YOUR MOTHER.

"But that's not why I'm shaking." Her mother moved closer, that familiar look of gentle worry settling over her features. "Then what is it, baby? You're scaring me." Daggy opened her mouth to speak but the words stuck in her throat. Britty was watching her from the corner with those big brown eyes that looked so much like Dynan's it made Daggy's chest hurt, and she knew she couldn't keep running from this anymore. "The person who stopped those men," she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper. "It was…. Mama, It was the Alpha."

Sipho whispered. He refused. Refused to be replaced. Refused to lose another child. Refused to die like this. With a roar, he grabbed the child’s wrist. Let the Darkness flood him fully. Black veins exploded across his skin. The ground split. Trees bent away. The air screamed. For a second— He was the monster again. Full Keeper. Raw power. He slammed the child into the dirt hard enough to crater it. The earth cracked outward. Shockwaves tearing through the yard.

Despite her years on earth, Mom lost all reason and turned against me, her daughter, for a man. “You’ll be sorry if anything happens to Bryan!” She cocked her head back and yelled at me. I could barely recognize Mom with the menacing look on her face. “Mom! Are you sure he loves you? Why did he hit on me then?” I yelled back, finding it hard to breathe. “You’re just jealous that I stole your crush. You’re young. Time is on your side to find someone new, but it’s not often I get to find love again.” Mom held Bryan in her arms, her heart going out to him.
