"This is my venue now, and I don't welcome you two. In fact, you don't even deserve to breathe the same air as us. Hence, the bodyguards." She waved impatiently, and the guards roughly shoved Benedict and me toward the door. She strutted out, her belly slightly protruding, holding a piece of paper in her hand. Then, she had the manager stick it to the glass door at eye level. The notice read, "No scum allowed!"

“Classic Mom.” “You’re twenty, Ivy,” she said tightly. “You’re not cute. You’re not interesting. You’re a liability.” “Wow,” I said. “Touching.” “If you want to stay in this house, there will be rules.” “Oh, I can’t wait.” Her eyes sharpened. “Don’t bring boys here. Don’t sneak out. No parties. No mess. No drama.” “So I should probably stop talking to you?” “I swear to God—” “I’m joking,” I said, tossing my keys into the glass bowl on the console. “Mostly.”

Now, it was up to Damien to decide the next step. After a moment of contemplation, Damien spoke up, "In that case, why don't we host a live competition? With live streaming being so popular on all major platforms, we'll use it todetermine the winner through sales. But there's a rule: neither team can have staff or relatives buy the products. If it happens, all data will be reset... and the same goes for intentionally boosting the other team." Damien was always fair, believing in meritocracy. He never overlooked talent or gave up on it.

Even though I hadn't been paying full attention, a few rules had managed to stick. "In case you forgot, dating a teacher is strictly prohibited, handsome." I turned back around to face them. They were frantically trying to fix their clothes. The guy froze mid-buttoning when he realized I hadn't left yet. He turned toward me, his wide eyes locking onto mine as he took me in. I cleared my throat. "But hey, whatever. Rules are meant to be broken." He looked away and resumed buttoning his shirt. I let out a sharp sigh. "Next time, be more careful. Not everyone is as nice as I am," I deadpanned.

But those rules I had brake and consequences are hunting me until today. The first was the most important, never show the human who you are, without hypnosis. This rule protects us the dead ones, from humans whose population is about 98 percent of the world. Second, never put your hands into humans' life. You can't save anybody if his or her destiny is to die. Third, drink from one person as many times as you can,(but to leave the victim alive is very hard, mostly we cant control until the body is warm) keep him as a pet with seduction powers but you must kill him in the end and destroy all evidence of a biting.

The middle aged man, who I had labeled as the auctioneer stated. “They are rules to the game because, without rules, there's no law. For the new bidders who are among us today, I'd like you guys to listen to me perfectly. Rule number one, if you bid for an item and win, you must exchange it with the exact blood your bidder asks for, otherwise your item would be returned back to the auction house. Rule number two, If a female is found illegally in the house, she would be taken to the palace to face the vampire King’s wrath. Rule number three, No fighting. If anyone is caught fighting in the auction house, your item would be retrieved back.”

It will hurt my human; you know our rules. Jillian- I do know the rules. We can’t hurt our humans. We can’t hurt our mates. We can’t hurt another living creature, unless it is to save our own lives. We must not give away the misdeeds of our humans. I know the rules. But I also know you are named Vixen for a reason. Vixen- If I break the rules, the goddess may not give me another human. Jillian- True. But if your human is a bad human.

It took a lot for a vampire to destroy another one of their kind, it was mostly forbidden, except in circumstances as this one. “Luka Gremory, I sentence you to death.” The prince said calmly, crossing his arms as the room once again erupted into a chaos I had never seen before; my own fear spiking. Felix Gremory was the first the strike, pouncing on his father as the rest of the room moved to crowd around, ensuring that he did as the prince had commanded; once a vampire was sentenced it was up to others of their kind to carry out the punishment.

I mumble, pulling myself from Virginia's arms and run from the room. I run. I don't stop; I just run. RULES LEFT UNBROKEN; 1) no sex 4) one on one; no introducing friends 5) 1 year max 6) one date per week each 9) the unsuccessful mate loses bond but no falling out between family members 10) no boasting, bribing or blackmailing.

She flipped through it slowly, eyes scanning the rules again. Rule 3: Weakness is not tolerated. Rule 7: Personal disputes must be settled in the ring. Rule 9: Hierarchy is earned through combat, obedience, and demonstration of strength. Her heart beat steadily. Not fast. Not slow. Focused. She pressed a hand to her chest—bound flat—and closed her eyes.
