Its stomach is opened, seeping out of its origin. Its face is torn up so badly that she is unrecognizable. A warning. I grip the railing harder, heart pounding. The cargo ship looms ahead, massive and slow, vulnerable. And then—floodlights blaze from the starboard side. Another vessel emerges from the dark. Sleek, black, marked with a single insignia. The Vitale crest. I exhale, part relief, part dread. The new ship surges between the cargo and the attackers. Its guns roar, tearing into the speedboats with terrifying precision. Engines sputter, hulls splinter, screams cut through the air. Within minutes, the would-be raiders are retreating, limping into the night.

Seeing her mother being loaded into the ship Lena asked could she go and once her father said no, she began to scream, cry, and run toward her mother. Once Lena was restrained by Kariya, the ship flew away safely off to Karzam with Kariya’s new wife onboard. The ship was like a big freight liner with slots for the cages to go in and a steel gray floor. Azrella was briefed on job by a burly looking guard as the ship sped off.
