She was taking everything to the last mage to turn over and complete the task. As she walked into the tent, Matthew was there, and she knew something was up. She looked at him and then turned and really looked at him in his office. He was moving around now. She looked at the screen, and the mage was talking about love and life. these programmed responses normally took forever, so he was about ready to skip them when the mage asked, “Are you ready for the next step in life?” She typed, yes. The mage responded, “Then turn around.”

"As soon as we can awaken your mage blood, then your training will not be that hard for you since you were a trained fighter who had been through a lot." "Awaken my mage blood?" Lanver was confused. He didn't know if he could ever be accustomed to the terms used in this world. "Yes. Right now we can only feel your presence as a human. Princess Anna must have sealed it to hide you. However, your blood as a mage must be so strong that it could resist Princess Anna's spell, that's why there were times, as you've noticed, when something weird were happening to you." "Why would you know what was happening to me back there?"

I murmured to myself, my mind starting to race as I walked over to a table, setting the old book down as I began to leaf through its long index, some pages almost falling out as I touched them “Celebrations after the birth of cubs… Offerings to the Goddess… Feast after the harvest…” “These things seem to have been written centuries ago.” Atticus wrinkled his nose, also reading over my shoulder “Celebrations after children's first transformation? Where did the person who wrote this live? In a village with ten wolves? Does he have any idea how many children transform for the first time every day…?” “Magic rituals.” I interrupted him when I read the title of that chapter, quickly starting to lo

This chapter sets the tone of the new book, deepens the danger, raises the stakes, and shows the first real awakening of the child’s power. ⸻ **BOOK TWO — CHAPTER ONE “The Blood Between Realms”** (approx. 600–650 words) The realm trembled all night. Not from battle. Not from Malik’s fury pulsing through the stone corridors. Not from the Underworld pounding at invisible gates. It trembled because of the child.

Every story has a beginning, some good, some bad, mine has never been a happy one, no matter who, or how I tell it, nobody will believe me. I can't rely on the people in my life, My parents ignore me, or are cruel to me, my friends are unreliable, and aren't trustworthy either. So what happens when I turn 16 years old, and run away from my problems to another world, only to find myself in the same magical world I played make belief in as a kid? With heartbreak at every turn, and a possible new relationship on the horizon, what could possibly go wrong in this world that hasn't happened to me on Earth?!

As we walked through the towering rows of books, she finally spoke. "Can you feel your magic moving in you?" I furrowed my brows, concentrating. I checked internally, searching for a spark, a hum, or a pulse. The only thing I could feel moving was my heart, which was beating a bit fast from nerves. Does that mean I’m defective? I thought worriedly. What if it turns out that I am also a runt mage? Elder Kaelith didn't look back. "I assume the answer is no. That is fine. Your magic burst free of its binds because of the toxin, but you haven't learned to recognize the flow of it yet. Being a mage is not like being a wolf."

The kind that transcended all else, lived when everything else had shriveled up and died. Did my mother know the hell she’d sent me off to? Slash after slash the Head Mage made, tracing the map of thick scar tissue until it split at the seams. No matter how badly my head swam, or the room spun, I was never able to pass out. I wasn’t sure if it were magic that kept me awake, or the other mages chanting in low, frightening voices.

he asked in quick succession. “Hold on, one thing at a time. You probably can’t move because your body lost so much blood, I had to bind you to keep you still so I could transfuse you with some of mine,” she said showing a thin magical stream of red blood flowing over to a place on himself Rex couldn’t see,” Two, I don’t know exactly where we are. Three, I have a feeling we may be somewhere unfamiliar to me inside of the spirit realm, which means magic is given to mages called ‘sho’cendi’ which is granted from a familiar you must find and bond with, that could explain your lack of use with magic, and about Fafnir being gone, I don’t know.” “How long until you’re done?”

My mind raced as I heard screams. Because beneath all the chaos, I heard something else — a gut-wrenching scream. The kind that didn’t belong to any mage, sage, or even human. Not a student. Not a teacher. Something distant, something familiar, echoing through the crack in the sky itself. And then… the burn mark on my chest began to pulse, an itchy sensation spread slowly across my chest, the mark glowed a bright red, before it surged, golden and bright, a scorching heat that ignited beneath my skin. My breath caught. Pain sliced through my chest, a searing, piercing agony that left me gasping for breath. I stumbled, clutching at the fabric over my heart, but the mark’s glow intensified,
