Deep Down Your Black Heart

Deep Down Your Black Heart

The heat from the acidic pool scorched the air, making the vitaecer sweat profusely as it dripped down his furrowed brow. Across the room, a woman with a blue teardrop tattoo, the ink swirling down from her eye and stopping just beneath her cheek, stood silently. Argent. She was a figure of serene danger, her silver hair braided tightly and falling all the way to her feet. She was clad in sleek, black armor, her nails like sharp claws, arms crossed, watching the scene unfold with detached curiosity. Her eyes glimmered under the flickering candlelight, as if she found some kind of amusement in the vitaecer’s torment.

Veronica

Veronica

They were all screaming Elspeth's name. Silently I stood up from where she attacked me. She has no knowledge that I blocked her attack. I sighed and removed the waterfall braids onto my hair before I break their fun. "Silence!" I screamed loud, and with one word, what I wanted was then granted. Pure silence covered the place as I ascend, glowing because of my aura. I held my head high and turned my gaze to the demons around me. With a glare, one by one they went down onto their knees. "I am Veronica Vane. I am your one and only true Queen and Herald. No impostor can bring me down to the ground."

The Alpha's Hidden Child

The Alpha's Hidden Child

Caitlyn moved forward and started spouting nonsense. “Greetings, Alpha. I am Caitlyn, daughter of Beta Armad Williams of the Blood Shadow Pack.” She bowed. “My friends and I were busy admiring the arrangement of the feast table when Emery briskly walked to the food. She must have been so hungry because it was like nothing could ever stop her, right guys?” She looked back at her friends while they all uttered sounds of affirmation.

I love this story. At beginning it reminded me of Cinderella story. The way it started out, but in a different way. It had some twist and turns. You definitely could feel the character and how she felt.

I like this book a lot. If you like the regret/baby wingman/character growth troupe, then I suggest this book for you. Kudos to the author for the not-so-short chapters as well.. P.S. Dalton is so funny

Violet's Vengeance: The Rise of The Fallen Luna

Violet's Vengeance: The Rise of The Fallen Luna

I am the Violet who will reign, whether the world likes it or not. And when she comes near, I do the impossible. I jump higher than her and twist in the air. When our trajectories cross, I open my jaws wide, my teeth aligning with her throat in a fatal instant. And I bite. The sound is wet, grotesque. Lyun’s throat gives beneath my fangs. I tear flesh, tendon, what remains of my old friend and current rival. She tries to howl, a short, gurgling sound, as her life slips away.

 Chosen for the Lycan

Chosen for the Lycan

Then she tugged at my hand and moved me down the hallway, looking around like she wanted to be sure nobody was close enough to hear what she was about to say to me. “Do you know what this means? It's nothing like we've seen before” her strange black eyes were piercing mine. Camile was not a werewolf or Lycan, she was a witch. Her coven had her banished for falling in love with a Lycan. Camille chose love and love brought her here. “I noticed” Of course, her nightmares were nothing like any I had seen before, it was crystal clear. “You don't get it Reuben” her voice was firm causing my gaze that was somewhere else to jerk back to her face.

You're Mine, Late Bloomer Omega

You're Mine, Late Bloomer Omega

Her hair was in a high bun and her makeup was ruined. "XANDER! YOU'RE CRAZY! YOU BASTARD!" Cyntia roared, crying. I laughed sarcastically. "Cyntia Olsen, you have humiliated and insulted me, be careful, because I will not let this go like that! I, Xander Kanne Riordan, Alpha heir of the White Diamond Pack, swear to avenge your actions tonight. I will repay you badly." In the midst of Cyntia's tears, I groaned. Then I hit the guest table as hard as I could and slammed it down to make a crashing sound.

CAITLYN

CAITLYN

Chapter 9 Caitlyn was standing beside her gate when Martin arrived in his car. She was wearing a black leather skirt that stopped way above her knees, a small white top that clung to her body, a black leather jacket, and a white shoe to match. Martin swallowed nothing as he stared at her. He was mesmerized by her beautiful face and body. He cleared his throat nervously, winded down, and poked his head out a little. "Get in!" He ordered her. She smiled and quickly rushed to enter the car.

Vowed (Book #7 in the Vampire Journals)

Vowed (Book #7 in the Vampire Journals)

Within moments, the first attackers were in her face, swinging, slashing. Caitlin’s instincts took over. Her vampire speed and reflexes, all her years of training with Aiden, took. She found herself parrying and slashing back, kicking and dodging and rolling. As three vampires charged and brought down their swords at the same time in a well-coordinated attack, she spun and slashed all three swords away as she came back around, and kicked one hard with a spinning roundhouse kick, knocking him hard into the other warriors—who all landed on top of each other.

EMERGENCE: The Subnatural Chronicles

EMERGENCE: The Subnatural Chronicles

“Why, Taryn?” The wraith’s claws slash, hum screeching, stone crumbling, Veil’s threads snapping. Kalia’s vision sharpens—the void-core, her orb’s light its key. “We need her!” she shouts, orb blazing, nodding at Taryn. Taryn’s blade shifts, striking wraith-claws, her hymn aligning briefly, eyes narrowing. “Don’t trust me yet,” she mutters, blade flashing, wounding the wraith, shadow-blood spilling. Kalia’s orb surges, light cracking wraith-flesh, hymn steady, aura bright. The wraith wails, claws dissolving, fleeing through a rift-maw, its hum fading. Taryn steps back, blade lowering, eyes cold, voice low. “Not my fight.” She vanishes into shadows, hymn gone, Veyra’s blade trembling, eyes we
