I turn my attention to my brothers and see the murderous look on Kai’s face when he approaches Vanya. “Hello, Vanya; long time no see,” he says and tries to wriggle out of Nikolai’s grasp, but my brother has gotten stronger than her. While I was waiting, I looked back through the older part of the book. Some of the spells ranged from the tenth and twelfth centuries; some even earlier. I wondered if any of my ancestors had known King Arthur or Joan of Arc, but it was doubtful. My ancestors came from the Vikings. Interesting. Vikings were known for their strength and ruthlessness, among other things. I smirked, sure that held true for the Arctic Wolf-Witches of my people, too, who had settled in Alaska and the northern regions of North American by way of Iceland and Greenland. Idk why, but Dimitri speaking Old Norse with the Vikings is really attractive to me XD. Creating that dialogue was a huge bitch. There are some dictionaries of the language out there, but they aren't very extensive so I had to improvise on things they could have said, making their convo come out a little elementary. Served its purpose though! Dimitri also reveals a little bit more about his past here, but more details on Ivan will eventually come out later.
