CHAPTER 3 __________ MARIAH It happened so quickly, sir john didn't even see it coming. Just as his grimy hands traced my lips, just as he pushed his thumb into my mouth, the king let out a vicious growl standing to his feet. It was so low. So scary even I froze, too scared to even breathe. Sir John's eyes went wide. He looked up at the king in fear as he let me go, but he remained frozen in his seat.

Bran forced himself up and leaned back on his elbows. "The vampire king is mine." Ariti drew closer to him and his smarmy face, the disgusting smile on his face, the sight of Maria's grey eyes in his evil face, pissed Bran off all over again and the anger filled him with strength. He traced to Ariti and lifted his sword to strike when suddenly, he couldn't move his hands. He frowned, looked down and was beyond puzzled to see a thick chain winding around his body.

Seeing her, they cheered in excitement, gathering around in their usual spot to hear her stories. Taking her seat at the foot of the tree in the far end of the compound, she began. "Once upon a time, there was a Vampire King cursed by an old witch for his ruthlessness. But she wasn't like the Vampire King, she was merciful to leave him a cure. Find the one girl with a unique tattoo on her right arm, her blood will break his curse," she narrated. "But since I already told you the story's ending a few minutes ago, that would be all for now," she smiled widely at them as she rose from the foot of the tree where she sat.
