Two Kingdoms, One Mate

Two Kingdoms, One Mate

As we spirited into the castle, the oaken double doors bolted behind us with a loud bang. On its own accord. "Phew! It's a good thing we're out of the god-forsaken storm now." I whistled, scouting the Victorian interior. "I've got annoying particles that could pass for bricks pricking my eye balls." She blinked rapidly, bringing her left arm to her eyes to clear her sight. I could see the green timer clearly with my normal eyes. It grew out of her arm like veins branching through her skin. The timer glowed bright, ticking like a bomb about to explode.

Every time Bethel writes, she does a very magnificent job. After reading two of her previous works ( When the wrong one loves you right and Love's Inferno: when fire meets ice), I have also had anticipation for her next work and she did not disappoint. 100% recommend

"How long?" "Thirty minutes for the first one. Maybe forty-five for the second." Forty-five minutes was too long. I didn't say that because saying it wouldn't make it shorter. "The moment either team has a visual confirmation they report directly to me." Lucas nodded and went back out.

Vad’s Point of View “Get one unbroken sheet of paper and answer the following questions on the board. You have 30 seconds to answer each item. You have 25 minutes to answer everything. One glance at your seatmate and you’re going out of this room. You know the rules. Ready or not, the timer starts now.”

Alright. I have to say this. That twist got me. I thought the mirror reflection scene was just a plain old-used scenario, but I was surprised (in a good way) that Vad became a totally different person (gender). I find the POV funny. This book is well written and has an interesting opening chapter.

What should I say about this story? It's just awesome. It got a good plot and appears promising. Author has done an awesome job in depicting the emotions portrayed by the characters n fantasy world build up. I usually don't read fantasy genre, but this one caught my eyes. Kudos to the author .........

For a moment, I stared blankly at him, unable to come back to my senses. Jude frowned when I didn’t react. His eyes flashed with impatience. His fingers tightened around the small timer in his hand. The air felt heavy. But— When I thought he would yell again, he suddenly went quiet. Too quiet. He raised the timer slowly, then pointed at it. “I’ll set this timer,” he said, his voice lowered this time, “and you need to circle this training ground in less than seven minutes.” My eyes widened. But he didn’t stop.
