She beamed like the sun itself, her hair dancing in the breeze, her white dress billowing like a sail.
Her eyes sparkled like the stars, and that smile—it was the warmest light I had ever known, though I had taken it for granted until it was gone.
“Wendy…” Her name caught in my throat, and a sudden warmth stung my eyes.
