Unbeknownst

Unbeknownst

I stopped breathing. Not because I was frightened. Because I was waiting. Because the whole of the last two days had been a kind of waiting, and this was the moment it had been waiting for, and I did not want to rush it. I wanted to stay inside it for as long as it would hold. His eyes moved over my face the way they had in the hallway and in Lucas's doorway and at the window, unhurried and thorough and entirely focused, as though there were nothing else in the room worth looking at.

The Dire Girl

The Dire Girl

We crouched there, the rough cold of it pressing into my knees. For a while nothing happened. That was the part I hated. Waiting. Not because it was boring, though it was. Because the longer you wait, the more your body starts reading significance into everything. Every movement. Every sound. A loose panel knocking softly somewhere in the wind. A bird startling from a roofline. The whisper of tyres far off beyond the estate. Beside me, Jenny was trying very hard to be still and failing in tiny ways. A shift of weight. A breath held too long. Her excitement was still there, but the edges of it were tightening now.

The Moon’s Pure wolf

The Moon’s Pure wolf

Carefully. Like he doesn’t know what I am anymore. I don’t blame him. I don’t know either. I look up. The sky looks normal. Too normal. Like it’s hiding the fact that something fundamental just shifted. The world holds its breath. I feel it. In the trees. In the ground. In the space between heartbeats. Waiting. Then slowly… It exhales. Not relief. Not peace. Just… release. And for the first time since I became this—

The One Who Waited

The One Who Waited

Uriah spent the night in his hotel room, plagued by nightmares of losing Irina, cursed to never find her again. He woke up in a cold sweat, gasping against his pillow. Even after waking, the nightmare did not truly end. Sitting up in bed, Uriah lit a cigarette. The pale blue morning light filtered through the curtain gaps, mixing with the white smoke in a scene that felt both worn down and suffocating. Leaning back against the headboard, he tried desperately to understand how things had gotten to this point.

hers stood out. Undeniably. Irrevocably. Addictively. I inhaled like a man starved. Let the scent burn through me, fill my lungs, and root in my bones. A long, trembling exhale followed without permission. I shifted restlessly in place, my pulse picking up pace, palms tightening against the seams of my trousers. I didn't want to keep her waiting. I didn't want to look like some aloof, detached monarch barely interested in the women who'd been hand-picked to stand before me.

Empress Wolfe
Sargis and Narine just became one of my favourite couples! I love Sargis' love and devotion, and Narine's wisdom and quiet strength. I wish her adoptive parents were punished as well, but oh well ... (7/29/26)

I loved this book and it's characters. I love how there was no unnecessary drama that slowed the pace and didn't make sense like in other stories. And I loved the way that we got to see some of the same scenes from both perspectives. I'd love to read a sequel.

In love with my step father in law

In love with my step father in law

Chapter 32: Back and fort Ethan crouched in the bitter cold, his breath curling into the night like smoke. The warehouse ahead of him looked like a corpse—broken windows, rusted siding, and silence that seemed to breathe. This place had seen too much, forgotten too many things. And somewhere in that darkness, Ezra Quinn was waiting.

Bloodscript: Survival Game of the Reborn

Bloodscript: Survival Game of the Reborn

The coffin’s contents seemed to pulse with faint, residual light, pages shifting minutely as if breathing. All around us, the others were wrestling their own versions. Grant stood over his briefcase, jaw clenched, hands fisted at his sides. Tamsin’s fingers hovered over the lead script, trembling. Jax stared down at his guitar case and the word ALMOST, expression stripped of his usual humor. No one has moved yet. We were all waiting to see who would flinch first. The pages at my feet rustled. A whisper slithered up from the paper.

THE DUKE'S FORBIDDEN PROPHECY

THE DUKE'S FORBIDDEN PROPHECY

No name appears - mine or anyone’s. My hands shake as I reach for it. This isn’t Noah’s quick, jagged hand. Flowing lines take their place - soft, careful, shaped like someone else entirely. Yet the message inside... holds tight to something familiar Snow still grips the ground long after you left. Hours crawl while I wait for another break in your routine. That quiet place by the water stays close in my thoughts. Keeping us secret wears thin, though you said it won’t last much longer. When things change, we’ll walk in daylight without fear. Waiting feels heavier each day. As usual, destroy this once read.

SINFUL CRAVINGS: A Raw Taboo Erotica Anthology

BOOK 3: Chapter 21: A Dangerous Addiction She returns back to her room with a guilt-ridden heart. Her steps are uneven, unsteady, her breath shallow and trembling. The door clicks shut behind her, and she leans her full weight against it, exhaling like she's just escaped something lethal. Her eyes drift closed. Inhale. Exhale. Again. Her chest rises and falls in uneven waves as she tries to cool the fire scorching through her veins.

A Heart No Longer Waiting

A Heart No Longer Waiting

Now, one by one, she tossed everything inside—photos, notes, journals. When the last picture curled up in the flames, she smiled. 'Mateo Lopez, all the memories are gone. And so is our future.' Under the vast night sky, no one noticed Yara walking out the gates, suitcase in hand. She never looked back.
