Claire’s POV “Please let me introduce everyone,” Thoran stands. “As you’ve met, Jax,” he nods. “This is Herk, Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack.” He gestures to the hazel-eyed man. I hesitantly glance over at him. His smirk has become a grin. He reaches out for my hand, and I slowly take it to shake. But he brings it to his lips, eyes never leaving mine. “Nice to meet you, miss…?”

In the heart of the cosmic tempest, Sasha felt a shiver, a resonance echoing in her very essence. Alec tightened his grip, sensing the tension in the celestial currents. "Sasha," Alec's voice cut through the cosmic murmurs, "something is amiss. The very fabric of the Nexus quivers." Sasha gazed into the swirling darkness, where Verathos stirred. Shadows whispered ancient secrets, a language unknown to mortal ears. Verathos, the cosmic embodiment of forgotten truths, spoke in riddles. "Guardians of Love, your journey nears the crucible. The celestial dance demands a sacrifice."

"I didn't mean to. I'm sorry. But, I really do feel weird, Sandy." He rubbed his now red arm before studying me, not saying anything. "Now, you're the one who makes me feel weird." I pointed at him. He remained silent. "Stop that!" I pushed his face away. Sandrius took my arm, and pulled me closer to him, staring intently at my eyes. "You fucking bastard. Get off of my mate!" Kielton growled. "I think Xanthe's wolf is back." Sandrius said to Kielton.

How weird. “Anyways, do you have a name? I can't keep calling you shadow walker.That's bit too risky” “No” His answer is quick and plain.I sigh, thinking of a name to give him. “Xander?” I suggest. Before I could ask if he liked the name, a menacing growl from outside stole my attention. I looked down the window and saw three wolves on Zion and others on Drax. Zion shifts but Drax remains fighting in his human form.

These people were mostly outlanders, but there were a few familiar faces too. A middle-aged man stood up, made his way to Adrian, and said, “Hi. My name is Casey Wolfman, and I’m a sailor of this ship. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Casey looked extremely humble and had a sincere smile on his face. Adrian smiled back and said, “I’m Theo Xander, and this is my girlfriend Sia Thompson.” “I see. Where are you from, Theo? I’m from Yelloton. What brings you to Luposia?” Casey asked smilingly.

He looked up at me and spat out a chunk of the man, and nodded, ready to go. I walked on, opening doors to make sure they were clear as we passed, knowing Xander and Elias probably had Balista cornered in one of them. I kicked in a door to the left, and no one was there. "Clear!" A few wolves ran past, but Seven stayed on my flank. Gunfire, growling, shouts, and screams echoed off the walls in the warehouse as we made our way through. I kicked open a door to the right. Nothing. "Clear!" Then I came to another door across the hallway and heard voices. I kicked it open, and Xander and Elias were standing there nude, having just shifted, and Balista and Sasha were backed against the wall.

Weapons were visible, but the trio did not attack. Aella recognized the embroidery on their sleeves an old, forbidden sigil. She had only ever seen it in a dusty ledger of exiled factions. Thalen’s muscles coiled beneath his tunic, his body language radiating caution. “Wanderers,” he muttered. The lead Wanderer inclined his head slightly, his eyes calculating. “Alpha,” he said, voice low, “you travel with unusual company.” His gaze lingered on Aella, assessing, measuring. Thalen stepped slightly forward, positioning himself between Aella and the intruders. “You’re far from your territory,” he said, voice calm but edged with warning.

The refined shape and the weird red cloak draping, its body screamed only one creature; the Wanderer. I continue forward, not hesitating to reach out. “Hello, Wanderer. What’s happening?” I asked, wanting a reply to all of this but the wanderer kept shut, its face completely covered by its hood. But as it rose its head, the red moonlight showed its features. My face. My eyes stared back at me with nothing but emptiness. I staggered back. My face—expressionless, hollow—stared at me from beneath the Wanderer’s hood.

But the real tether—the faint, warm spark of their soul-bond—throbbed in his chest, urging him onward. He roared, unleashing a spiraling conflagration that vaporized the illusion. “Hold me to my path, beloved,” he whispered into the wind, and plunged ahead. They hit the spiral’s center like arrows loosed from a bow. Light swallowed them—then shattered. --- Silence. No wind, no mist—only the soft, breathing hush of a sun-touched forest. Wyverns circled to a gentle landing among towering silverwoods whose leaves shimmered teal and rose gold. Petals drifted like sleepy snow. In the distance, crystalline spires caught dawn light—Xaerath, restored.
