Chapter 31 – Grace Warmth, that's what surrounded me. The feel of a solid body against mine as I lay on a comfortable surface that smells like sunlight on a summer day. I smile, snuggling closer to the warm body, happy to not feel any pain or exhaustion. "Is she up yet?” Some one whispers, their lyrical voice reaching my ears.

I let out my feelings to him. “You are my wife…I will always help you , even if you are the strongest woman in this world – and you are…” he places the empty bowl aside and wraps his arm around me. “…the strongest woman I have ever met…” After supper and our little talk , we all gathered around the fire place warming our toes and fingers from the bitter cold. We would have thought that we would be warm in this cave , but it seemed to get colder inside than outside. "Honestly, I'm just glad you're awake. You had me worried, Sarah." I looked at her, really looked at her, and smiled faintly. "Thanks, Lily. For taking care of me." She grinned. "Of course. You'd do the same for me." And as she stood to get me some water, I glanced back at the scars on my arm, already fading. But I could still feel it, the faint hum beneath my skin. Warmth was the first thing that registered, a deep, pervasive heat that had nothing to do with the fire — long dead now, its embers merely a faint, comforting glow in the hearth.
