Chapter 15: Two Moons Entwined Chris read through the result slip a couple of times, thinking he had mistaken the word “Alpha” as “Omega”. Nevertheless, no matter how many times he read it, the word “Alpha” was clearly stated there. For whatever unknown reasons, Chris was not satisfied with the result and he was denying the fact Nathan was an Alpha. Before this, he was certain his best friend was an Alpha and he did not mind it. However, after talking to his mother and listening to her thoroughly, Nathan’s description fitted more to be an Omega rather than an Alpha. Nonetheless, a heavy-seed Omega — the rarest of the rare.

"I'm sure to them we smell just as bad, if not worse." That was hard to believe. Reedriver found their scent offensive, but he dared not say it out loud. He followed the others to the island where he was greeted by a young looking dark black she-cat with piercing green eyes. "Who are you?" she demanded as she eyed him up like he was her prey. Reedriver only glared back, his claws unsheathing as he prepared himself for the worst. "My name is Reedriver," he snapped. "I am a RiverClan warrior." That didn't seem to deter her as she narrowed her eyes.

And the crowd goes wild, so eager are they to see me ripped apart for my insolence. “I almost pity her”, “This is going to be good”, “I wonder how long she'll last”, “two seconds tops”, “come on dude at least give her the benefit of a doubt”, “how about a bet”, “oh count me in”, “Start already, I want to see what her insides look like” What a bunch. I admit, hearing Kitty shriek, looking up to see Nikki picking her up and carrying her to the lounge near the fireplace. “Romulus and Remus,” Osric chuckles, shaking his head at our excited friends who talk to Benjamin and Ares. “I like that, but I’m pretty sure they’re girls,” I pick up both kittens to verify their genders. “Skoll and Hati, after the wolves of Ragnarök,” Jonathan suggests, peeling his eyes from Roan to look down at the sleepy kittens in my lap. I smile, looking over at our daughter to see she is smiling up at her dads who are giving her all the attention she wants.

As we descended into the subterranean colosseum, the noise became overwhelming. Two thousand warriors filled the stone tiers of the cavern. These were the Shadow Warriors—the battle-scarred outcasts of the Dead Woods. They were alphas, betas, and omegas who had been rejected by their birth packs, criminals who had survived the brutal winter wilderness, and veterans of forgotten border wars. They didn't wear uniforms; they wore heavy furs, iron chains, and leather straps over bodies covered in jagged claw scars. They were savage, and radiated a volatile pressure.

I grabbed a hot chocolate and joined them. Lola "ah here’s our other new warrior" she said smiling Maisie "girls I’m so proud of you both your gonna smash it .and It'll be nice to know when we’re all tucked up in our beds, we have two of our finest girls patrolling the boarders". Dakota "Uhh, well we still have six months to go girls before we even know if we've passed and get to be official warriors" Maisie "well I already know you girls will kick ass and pass"

I can tell from the faint shadows under his eyes and the way he keeps unfolding and refolding the same scrap of map in his hands. Exact quarters. Fear made orderly. I try not to watch him do it. My wolf has been restless since Dorran's scent judgment. Every time Caelen shifts his weight, she notices. Every time he breathes, she lifts her head under my ribs. Mate. The word has become less surprising. More dangerous. Tomas makes a sound of disgust. "What?" Cedric asks. Tomas leans closer to the ledger. "There is more writing under the binding." Caelen goes still.

I think I’d make one hell of a bodyguard for some rich human and could draw in so much money that it wouldn’t matter what hierarchy a pack has, money talks their hierarchy is bullshit. After my run I headed to the Canteen and ate breakfast, then headed to the obstacle course and ran it twice. Then I joined a few warriors on patrol. Stanley and Oscar were friendly, though both seemed somewhat reserved around me. “Are you scared I may tell the Alpha what you say?” Oscar chuckled, “no, not at all, I’ve been part of this pack for years, I’m an elite not a normal warrior.” I nodded, “so what is with the elite warriors, what makes you so special?”
