“I’m waiting.” He held his hands up defensively. “Okay, Okay, easy.” He ran a hand through his blonde locks and stared up at the ceiling for a moment before continuing. “I didn’t want to tell you because you’re leaving and it’s not your concern... but... in four days Landon is stepping down as Alpha and they’re holding a contest. Rune and I are competing.” In Blackwater, the Alpha of the pack wasn’t determined by some birthright, but by the strength and worthiness of the wolf. Only the most powerful and most honorable was allowed to lead the pack to glory.

Behind him, ten warriors stand like statues, their uniforms neat, their expressions unreadable. Beside him, Alpha Dorian Vex emerges, adjusting the cuffs of his black leather coat. Unlike Elias, Dorian carries an aura of cool confidence rather than brute force. His high cheekbones and sharp, calculating eyes make him appear almost regal. His jet black hair is slicked back, a single silver streak cutting through one side. He wears a fitted black combat suit with a silver wolf emblem stitched over his heart. His ten warriors follow him closely, their matching dark attire giving them a ghostly presence.

She quickly stepped back, her heart pounding as she waited for what was about to happen. “Clink, clink, clink.” The sound of metal clashing repeatedly echoed. Someone was trying to break the lock to get in. Cara held her breath, tensely awaiting what would come next. Then, after two long years, the door finally swung open. In front of her stood a group of unfamiliar warriors. They wore black armor with a red moon symbol on their chests, completely different from the Dark Eclipse pack’s uniforms. Before Cara could say anything, the leader of the wolf warriors spoke:

Even though I am part wolf, he follows me and my orders nonetheless. Rage pulsed in my veins, my neck beginning to throb. I immediately linked with all other warriors outside their posts. “We have a trespasser. A male, part witch and part werewolf. Find him at all costs! And do not disappoint me,” I roared, making sure they got the message correctly. All my warriors responded with a huff. They knew what I meant when I ask them not to disappoint me, that is to come back with desired results, or it will be the end for their lives.

She ran even faster when she smelled blood, which meant there was some kind of battle going on. Hera arrived at the end of the alley and noticed two enormous wolves in the middle of the vast grassland. The black wolf, Esteban, is on top of the gray wolf whom she recognizes as his lover, Marcus. Esteban is significantly larger than Marcus, putting him at a disadvantage. Hera yelled angrily, "Esteban!" She then instantly transformed into a wolf and snatched Esteban by the back. She pulled him away from Marcus who was now bleeding.

Soon, the three men stood together in silence, smoke curling into the night air as they anxiously waited for news. "Belle is a fighter," Park finally broke the silence after exhaling a stream of smoke. "She's not going to give up now that she has you and Neo." Ethan lowered his gaze and took another drag. "She is," he admitted quietly. "She's always been brave." His voice cracked. "But I'm still scared." He released a shaky breath. The nicotine did nothing to calm him. The look in my eyes made his temperament grow soft and turn to concern. “I'm a failure and a shitty warrior,” I muttered sullenly, causing him to kneel down to my level. Reaching out he cupped my face and turned me to look at him. “Athena Blackstone, you're the best female warrior that I have ever known, but there's always someone better, and that doesn't make you any less remarkable,” he said compassionately.
