“And if he doesn’t?”
“Then we make him,” I said, my voice firm.
Suddenly, a low growl rumbled through the forest, breaking the silence like a crack of thunder. The Redfang wolves shifted, their heads snapping toward the sound. My heart raced, my grip tightening on the hilt of my weapon.
“They heard us,” Ansel muttered.
“No,” I said, shaking my head. “That wasn’t one of ours.”
Before we could react, a massive wolf stepped into the clearing, its eyes glowing a fierce yellow. The Redfang Alpha. He was larger than any wolf I’d seen, his dark fur bristling with power.
