Daniel walked for hours around the city. He was determined to go anywhere other than back to the Bostonian. He had so many things running through his head. His father sends Wyatt to see if he can be saved and stop the war that both sides have been waiting for. Elizabeth and him having a son and he’s eleven, and his life's in the same danger as Elizabeths. Daniel just wanted to walk away from all of this. How he wished that it had been Wyatt that was Forsaken instead of him. He felt everything way too much to be cut out for this job. These twelve years of soul collecting. So many souls collected for a war that might never happen. So many people sacrificed for what.

The silence grew teeth and began to bite. After an hour, the trees thinned. The air changed—drier, metallic. A wind came from the east carrying the sting of dust. Darius halted. “This is where the soil ends.” I looked out. Beyond the last line of trees stretched a plain the color of ash, dotted with pale stone and nothing else. The Wastelands. He pointed toward the horizon. “Follow the salt wind. When the ground turns white, you’ll be past the border. If you return, you will be executed on sight.”

Harry asked, puzzled even. "I don't think so,...wait! If I'm not mistaken, we are in the Wasteland, Anna responded in an even more worried tone. Her eyes could not penetrate the darkness no matter which way she turned. The streams of waste were awful, the smell of dreadful. Sulfur and a lot more. This was worse than the dark forest. This was the bowel of Moonland. "Anna, goodness me! It stinks like hell in here!"

It has no signs of life. “Why is that place different from the rest of the Realm?” I ask “No one knows. We have always called it The Wasteland” “Why?” “The Wasteland has breathable air and the gas you see isn’t poisonous” “Then why is it called The Wasteland ?” “Did Shayla tell you about the Realm’s protective mechanism against outsiders?” “No, she didn’t but Seth told me” “Just like every outsider who comes to the Realm gets their shadow absorbed by our soil so does the Wasteland absorb our shadow”

The night was pretty bright when Belle moved into her new apartment in 3rd avenue. She dragged her boxes into the rooms based on their description. The rodents had taken over nearly half her properties back in Sun street. She tried to ignore them but they kept eating more of her stuff up so she had to move. She had tried extermination and patching up even the tiniest holes in the apartment but they kept coming in. The landlady didn't even attend to her pleas or anything.
