Beside her, Dess had already turned, and Jayda heard the shift in her breathing that meant Dess's hand was already moving before the thought to stop it had fully formed in Jayda's mind, and she reached back and caught Dess's wrist without looking. "Don't," Jayda said. Dess stopped, but the tension in her wrist said everything about how much it cost her to do it. They were shocked by the content of the video. "Take off the watch," I said. Her smile stiffened. Instinctively, she pulled her hand back. "Jayden Burke, stop it. Everyone is watching." I didn't move. I repeated myself softly, but loud enough for the entire hall to hear, "Take off the watch."

I cursed, exiting my mail and dialing Lisa's contact immediately. Someone was onto her and after her. Her phone rang but she wasn't picking up my calls. "Shit" I cursed and dialed another contact. "Hello boss" "Where is Lisa?" I asked immediately he pocket up the call. "She is currently in class and I am watching her as per your orders" I sighed in relief. "Someone else is watching her. Find the person out" "Yes sir. Kill on sight?" He asked and I paused for a second. "No, I would have to know who sent that person"

Anaya yelled, her eyes locked on the dark silhouette of Christ Church looming at the far end of the square. Vikram reached into his leather satchel, his fingers brushing past the cold glass of the vial before gripping the shattered silver pocket watch they had pulled from the underground vault. The metal casing was burning hot now, the internal friction of its forced counter-rotation melting the intricate brass gears within. He raised the watch toward the advancing line of shadow entities and slammed his thumb down on the master winding crown.

He just stood there, still watching me. And I was already gone. I knew his names now—Adrian. Lisa let out a sharp breath beside me, pinching my arm hard enough to snap me out of the trance. “Holy hell,” she whispered, eyes wide. I could practically feel the excitement radiating off her like heat. And it wasn’t just her. Every woman in line—VIP or general—was watching him. Watching us. But Adrian didn’t even glance their way. His eyes stayed on me. “You know him?” Lisa asked, leaning close, voice barely audible over the thumping bass.

I stick the key into the ignition, looking up when something dark catches my eye. It's him. The Watchman. He's standing where he always stands but this time he's facing me, like he wants me to see him. He's completely motionless-a statue-and then he vanishes into thin air. Oh. My. God. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it. Am I hallucinating? Has losing my entire family finally pushed me over the edge? Liiza's POV I'm not sure where we are going but Zach told me to get ready, which is what I'm doing. I took a warm shower and calmed myself down and made sure I'm clean. I changed into a fit crop top and black ripped jeans then black heels.  I put on light makeup and curled my brown hair, then walked out.
