V. Sitting in the back of Alpha Jackson's big SUV I had my eyes closed. Not asleep, just resting. The Alpha, Luna, and three boys were sending me to the airport. Just as I walk out of sight I hear Jessie send a low growl through the link before I close it off. Peyton and I walk towards the tree line just making small talk. It is a crisp fall day and the view of the forest and the changing fall leaves are breathtaking. I like the way the noise fills the place, even for just a second, before the silence oozes back in.
