Kevin’s eyes lingered a second too long before he forced them back to the TV. They ordered food, cracked open beers, and settled into their usual spots on the big sectional couch. The conversation started light—Mike complaining about the crowded gym, Kevin venting about a tight deadline—but underneath it all was the memory of the other night. It hung in the air like static electricity. Halfway through the pizza, Mike wiped his hands on a napkin and leaned back, legs spread wide. “So… we gonna talk about it or keep pretending nothing happened?” Kevin nearly choked on his beer. He set the bottle down, heart suddenly pounding. “Talk about what?”

"Have you treated wounds before?" Kevin pointed at the medical kit beside him. He then lay back on the bed. "Treat her injuries. Apply ointment to half of them, and leave the other half untreated." My body trembled slightly. Kevin watched me calmly until I opened the kit. "If you're scared, you can switch with someone else. You won't be punished." His face was pale. As soon as he finished speaking, he started coughing again. Laura trembled violently.

He smiled inwardly and continued. "That was when I met Kevin. Kevin Freeman. We started fending for ourselves at the age of 5. At this time, we would memorize the names of our favorite celebrities, praying for a day to meet not just one but two or three together.
