“You’re stronger than this. We’ll get through it. Together.”
I want to believe her, but the fear is still there, heavy and suffocating. “They hate us,” I whisper.
“Fuck them,” Millie says, her voice fierce. “They don’t matter. You matter. We matter.” She pauses, brushing a tear off my cheek. “I’m not letting you go through this alone.”
I sniff, my voice trembling. “Did they say anything to you?”
Millie’s jaw tightens, her green eyes blazing with barely contained rage. Without a word, she grabs my wrist, her grip firm, and starts dragging me down the hallway. Her short, messy blonde hair flies around her face like a wild halo as she storms forward.
