Weather In Great Gatsby Novels & Stories

Two nights after we talked to Riley, it was raining cats and dogs. In the two weeks I had been at the ranch, there had been occasional showers, but this was the worst I’d ever seen. This was a full-on storm like I was used to during summers in Savannah, Georgia.

He‌ turned bac‍k to me, resting hi‌s large, calloused han‍d over my knee. "Now," he whispered, "it’s just a‍ home. Bec‌ause y‍ou're in it." Moretti Tower. Manhattan. Two D‌ays‌ Later. The‍ May weather in Ne‌w Yor‍k was crisp and bright, a p‌erfect spri‍ng d‍ay.

One-Hundred Twenty-Five: Stuck Inside Natalya All of us ladies had big plans for today. That was until mother nature decided it would be better if it rained. There was a loud clap of thunder, and a large flash of lightning flew across the sky. It was actually really pretty to watch. When the storm hit early this morning, it was assumed that Mykenzie and Kylani were in a bad mood. However, it turns out they are not responsible for this storm. I am watching the weather station, and they say this could go on for the next two to three days. I don’t care. I like it when it rains. Besides, we live in the pacific northwest, and we all should be used to the rain by now. I am reading a book

She mentioned once she'd never visited this area and thought the mountains were very romantic. I took careful note of it, just in case. The weather turns before we're an hour in. The radio's been talking about a front all morning. This gray wall sitting out over the ocean, deciding whether to be difficult or not. By the time we're unpacking it's on us. Rain hitting sideways against the windows. "You got us here just in time. Did you plan the storm to make this cozier?" she teases. "Absolutely. Even the weather obeys my commands."

Vaughn peered over the window as soon as he woke up. He let out a sigh of disappointment when he saw that the skies were dark and stormy. Raindrops pelted against the glass, creating a rhythmic yet teasing beat. “Why the hell is this happening?” he whispered. Vaughn read the weather forecast last week, and all reports said the weather would be great. He massaged the bridge of his nose and looked at Eloise, who was still in bed.

I can’t help but feel guilty for being the cause of their concern; ever since I entered their lives, all I seem to do is bring them grief. “I am going to head upstairs for a shower,” I say. “Call me if you need a hand serving or anything today, I need the distraction.” “Will do, sweetheart. But I think it is going to be a slow one today. This weather is dreadful so I can’t see many people venturing out.” “What weather?” I ask. “It was fine when I came downstairs, a bit dull but nothing too bad.” “It’s blowing a gale out there. The rain started about fifteen minutes ago and it’s torrential. Apparently, there’s a front moving in and it’s going to be like this all day.”

As I stood by the window, the paper calendar on my wall rustled in the wind and I looked over at the marked-off days. Only six more days to go until I could finally be free. I tightened my jacket around me and gazed outside, where the sky was a gloomy shade of gray, and the clouds looked ominous, as if a tornado might be on its way. Late spring weather was notoriously unpredictable.

Nathaniel’s POV It was mid-January, the height of the tropical summer in this part of the Pacific. While New York would be buried in gray slush and freezing winds, we were being roasted alive. In this region, the intense sun evaporates the ocean moisture so fast that the sky eventually has no choice but to dump it back down in those sudden, violent midnight downpours we experienced on the night of the crash and the other night.

Atlas rushed to Scarlett's side, standing next to her in front of his window, and looking out. "It might just be that the rains are coming." Atlas said, not even believing himself. But as a fierce wind began to blow, that had the trees in the yard doing a macabre dance, Scarlett started slowly, to allow herself to hope that it was indeed the rain, and not something in relation to the trembling of earlier.

“And you need far less care than he ever did. You sleep, and eat regularly, which is a nice change of pace. I’m no longer hounding anyone to take care of themselves.” “I think you could use a nice, long vacation, Cosette.” She chuckles, shaking her head, “To where, exactly?” “I’ve heard Maatua is very nice this time of year.” “It’s hurricane season in the spring, darling.” “Well, it’s better than spring snowstorms.” I glance out the windows beyond the kitchen table at the light, fluffy snow falling in dizzying spirals. It’s nearly April, and it’s still snowing almost daily, although it doesn’t stick to the ground. The forest around the manor is every shade of brown and red, the trees only a
