Six weeks after the verdict, we move into the farmhouse on a Wednesday. Not because Wednesday is special. Because that's when the keys are ready and the utilities are connected and the moving company has an opening and life does not wait for symbolically appropriate days. That's one of the things nobody tells you about building something real. It happens on Wednesdays. On ordinary unremarkable mornings when the coffee is bad and Hope has oatmeal in her hair and Lily is expressing opinions about car seats.

“From what I know, the kids are on weekends to give way for school.” Red nodded, “Yeah, Jade and Gray are on Saturdays. Blue and Ash on Sundays. Mine’s on a Friday. I got to leave class early that day.” “Mine’s Monday,” Hazel added. Then she pointed to Clementine with her thumb, “She’s after me. We’re both on Monday.” Olive said, “Thursday.” At the same time that Scarlett said “Tuesday.” Today was Wednesday. Yep, my shopping day was the same as my therapy day.

Which is what I'm doing on this new day. Wednesday is my chance to recover the week. I refuse to let it go down as crappy as it started. Vincent was wishy-washy at best and his refusal to answer any of my questions or talk to me about our non-relationship was absolutely grating on my nerves. I wouldn't let it happen again. I've sat around and let him stomp his feet and act ridiculous long enough. It was time for me to take charge.

Thursdays dragged at Everglades, and this one dragged more than any other Wes had endured. While he was used to there being fewer customers on these days, he usually didn't mind as much because it gave him plenty of time to play grab ass with Noel. Any other Thursday, Wes would have been praying for an empty bar, but today, he desperately prayed for Everglades to be full of patrons. The quietness would only make things more awkward with Noel. He had agreed to talk to Jake, but he had no idea what he would say to the man. The entire situation seemed stranger than fiction and Wes didn't do fiction.

What am I supposed to do there? I can't even figure myself out here! “He said you and I will be going on a business trip to Weretopia early Wednesday morning.”

Maybe even 2 chapters on each of the days. The new schedule going forward will be Monday/Wednesday/Friday. This way I can also work on the sequel for Susi.
