Grace was now pulled into the conversation with Hannah and even had her legs crossed together while facing her. "What are you thinking Hannah?" Grace asked. "Well," Hannah swallowed. "What if WE got married and bought a house? I know we just met, but, What if?" Hannah asked. Grace's eyes went wide. "Are you serious?" Suddenly Hannah's offer didn't seem so crazy. Last night Grace learned that Hannah was a medic in the military and had been deployed to a few countries overseas. She also learned that Hannah lived her life honorably, as well as traveled as much as she could.

**Homecoming** The familiar scent of home—the faint aroma of Claire’s lavender candles, the comforting smell of old wood, and the lingering hint of last night’s rain—filled the air as the Hayes family finally stepped through their front door. As he approached the kitchen, he heard a banging on the front door and he frowned. If he hadn’t been so heightened in his ability to hear, he wouldn’t have heard the door under this weather. Aside from the fact that it was raining, the walls of the house were soundproofed and the door was made from a thick oak tree as well. He wondered who could be at his door and why they were banging on the door in the rain. There was a front porch that should shield the caller from the rain, but he doubted that that would even be enough in this heavy, and stormy one.

Hannah’s POV: The drive down to my family's house was a long one. As I arrived, the tall black gates opened up, and I drove across a distance of open field before arriving at the main house's front door—there were several buildings on the estate. I stepped out of the car, and a helper rushed out to help me with my baggage. Before I entered the house and took a deep breath. “I'm going with Hayes; I love him, and we're going to build a life together.” This was the last thing I said before leaving.
