It was a little odd, saying goodbye to my family but feeling like I was still with my family because I was with Ben and going back to my family because I love my packmates so much.
On the way home, I rested my head on his shoulder, my eyes growing heavy. He kept the truck pointed straight on the icy road, the snow falling down around us. As I was about to drift off, I wondered why, if mages and werewolves are real, Santa Claus couldn’t be, too, and whether it was a trick of my own magic, a hallucination, or something else, I swear I saw a flash of red and silver cross the moon and heard the tinkling of jingle bells.
