"Kill me and let's get this over with." He stays silent and keeps looking me deep in the eye with so much hate and anger. Never has he ever looked at me this way. It's so strange, but that's not the only strange thing about his eyes. They look different and that's when I notice his eyes aren't the way they used to be, they're black, like Sean's. No, not like Sean's. They're completely black, every part of his eye. What is this? What is going on? I look away from him to Sean and see it's the same thing, black. Every other person is far away, and I can't possibly see their eyes in the dark, but something is not right. Something's definitely off. What could it be? What's going on?

" Aria said and Bethany laughed mockingly. " Now that's the face of a loser." I laughed. " You'll pay." She said and walked out in shame. " Aria you're damn crazy." Bethany said, chuckling. " That was epic , who knew she was that mean?" Aria said. " Did you guys see her Irises?" I asked. " Fuck her eyes." Bethany said and huffed. There was something about her eyes , one was black and the other gray , that was weird.

The answer was in his eyes! Along with Ancestor Origin’s declaration was a startling change to his eyes. The gray of his eyes were wiped away and several shades of red began to take its place. This wasn’t the red of the Barbarians, but a different kind of red that spelled doom and destruction. Along with the red appeared the blackness that represented the shadows. And they blended to form an unhealthy union that was as creepy as it was spine tingling. The red pooled into a pupil and the black filled the sclera, forming the strangest pair of eyes the world had ever seen.

I nodded. “Well, they usually have almost the same physiques as normal wolves, except for their all black eyes. But these recent ones have more dark veins around their body, and they have dark red eyes.” Flashes of what I saw last night before all of that chaos immediately came into my mind. Those red, wild eyes behind the leaves… “I think I saw one of them,” I said to the second in command.

I grabbed the huge canvas and my paints without bothering to tie my hair up. Colors collided on the canvas, raw and wild. Rage mixed with sorrow, bleeding into every stroke—red for the fury in the background, black for the emptiness, lines in the red, white for the hollow ache blending with the blue, brown for the weight of it all. But...Blue surged, sharp and piercing, until his image actually emerged. Not the man himself, but his eyes. Those cruel, calculating blue eyes that knew exactly how to lie. The image spoke...as if it was actually him on the other side—laughing at me, cruelly.

Its glow grew brighter and brighter until the group found themselves bathed in yellow light. Cory shut her eyes momentarily and when she opened them, the light was gone and they were sitting in the clearing of a different forest. This one had trees with black bark whose roots ran deep into the ebony soil. The leaves were all different shades of grey. Cory found the colours or lack thereof so disorienting. It was as if she had suddenly lost the ability to see in colour and now, could only see in black and white.

Years of lunges had given her some serious junk in the trunk for a girl of her size and color. Her eyes were blue, but not the pretty, sky blue most envied. No, hers were a dark blue like the ugly cousin barely related and never wanted at the party. She had contacts to brighten the color, but the damn things irritated her eyes. She had to stop wearing them when a customer had complained she was infected with something. Because infection was simply not tolerated at The Cobra Club.

I began, “Gemini twins are the only species of witches whose eyes go black when they’re in control. No other witches can achieve that level of darkness. That’s what makes them the most powerful witches of all.” The room fell silent as I continued, my voice unwavering. “For werewolves, it’s different. I stepped closer. They were whispering. Both of them, continuously, in something that had the rhythm of language without any of the words I recognized. Their skin was wrong, grey where it should have been brown, cracked at the joints, black residue seeping through the fissures and dripping onto the stone in slow, heavy drops that hit with a sound too loud for their size. Their eyes were white. Completely white. No iris, no pupil. Just white. I stood there for a moment, taking a full inventory of how bad this was.

Beneath his coat is a jacket with a distinct collar covering his neck, revealing only a brown neckerchief. His patient expression continues to stare at me while I take in his appearance, committing every minute detail to memory, but it’s his eyes that leave me with a sense of unease. His eyes are a deep, dark brown, so dark that under this monolithic structure, they almost appear obsidian. The colour does not disturb me; but instead, their lack of emotion.
